King’s Cross Layout

Hello! Samantha here with you. One of the most iconic places in the Harry Potter stories is King’s Cross and Platform 9 3/4. Today I’m using Paper House’s Harry Potter collection to scrap a few photos from King’s Cross in Orlando.

Supplies: Harry Potter Hogwarts at Night Foil Paper, Harry Potter Hufflepuff Tags Foil Paper, Harry Potter Gryffindor Tags Foil Paper, Harry Potter Planner Stickers, Harry Potter Icons Washi Tape

I think my absolute favorite thing about this collection (besides that it’s Harry Potter) is all of the gold foil. You will find it everywhere in the collection; from the papers to the washi to the stickers. The pops of gold help tie everything together and make the layout look cohesive.

Since I had one photo that was horizontal and one that was vertical, I decided to set my layout up in a bit of a grid shape. I primarily chose embellishments that were rectangles.

When I got my photos and embellishments laid out, it felt like something was still missing. I grabbed some washi tape and added strips to the top, middle and bottom of the layout. This really grounded the elements of the layout and gave it a finished feel. When in doubt, washi tape is almost always the right answer!

Quite a few years ago, my friend and I took a quick trip to Orlando to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (yes, I am that much of a geek). We had so much fun, and I have so many photos just sitting on my computer. I am so thrilled to be using Paper House’s Harry Potter collection to slowly work my way through those photos. It was such a fun trip and it deserves to be scrapped!

December Album

Hello! Samantha here with you. Today I’d like to share a little bit about how I memory keep (aka scrapbook) for the busy month of December and show you a few of my pages in progress.

Supplies: Christmas Joy Craft Set, Christmas Joy Puffy Sticker, Peace Love Home Double Sided Paper, Home for Christmas Tags Double Sided Paper

I put everything that happens into December into a mini pocket page style album. If you’re a flat scrapbooker, journey or travelers notebooks work well, but if you’re like me and like to use lots of 3D stickers and lumpy bumpy embellishments, a thicker binder style book works better.

I always start by creating my cover. This year I’m feeling a bit sentimental, and the glittery house on the Home for Christmas Tags Double Sided Paper had me feeling all warm and fuzzy, so I built my cover around that .

Everything that happens in December, all the pictures I take, go into the December album for that year. Sometimes the photos are festive and Christmas themed and sometimes they are just regular life things.

Because December is so busy and filled with fun events and memories, this style of printing photos, adding a journaling tag, and popping on a few fun stickers works really well for me. It’s fast, utilizes a lot of the fun Christmas stickers and embellishments that Paper House has to offer, and helps me get my memories down on paper while they’re still fresh in my mind.

All of these mini December albums get put on a shelf in the living room when we put out our Christmas decor. It’s so fun to look through them throughout the month and see all of our holiday memories and traditions.

Christmas Decor

Hello! Samantha here with you today. I love creating Christmas decor for my house every year. Sometimes I create something intricate and fussy and sometimes I keep it clean and simple, but it’s always a lot of to add something hand made to my Christmas decor.

Supplies: Christmas Joy Craft Set OR Christmas Magic Cardstock Multipack, Peace Joy and Love Double Sided Paper, and Christmas Joy Double Sided Foil Scrapbook Paper

As you can see, this time I decided to go with a clean and simple decor piece with a simple phrase.

One of my favorite things to do is to take what is currently popular or trendy and incorporate it into my own style. Farmhouse style decor is everywhere right now. For this sign I was inspired by the wood framed white word signs with black lettering that you see in almost every store (and lots of homes). I copied the words in two coordinating fonts on an almost solid colored background.

I decided to use the phrase “A thrill of hope”, but phrases like “Deck the Halls”, “Mistletoe & Co.”, “Joy to the World” or “Silent Night” would work really well, too.

I used 2 different patterned papers that are in contrasting colors, but have the same all over snowflake pattern. The cream letters on the red background have a similar feel to the black letters on a white background. The subtle snowflake pattern on the paper adds a little bit of dimension and interest to the sign (and mixing patterned papers is a nod to my style).

I finished up by dotting my “i” with a snowflake sticker and adding a few gold star stickers.

My finished sign is about 10″ x 12″.

Basketball Layout

Hello! Samantha here with you today. Football season ended, and less than a week later basketball season started. I love every minute of watching my kids grow, challenge themselves, and learn through sports. I also love trying to capture some of those moments in this basketball layout.

Supplies: All Star Sports Paper Pad, Basketball Essentials Sticker, Basketball Washi Tape Set

The All Star Sports paper pad has a mix of sports papers in it and one card stock sticker sheet. I think my favorite paper in the whole pad might just be the paper with all the hexagons. Not only is it a really fun piece of patterned paper, but the outline of all the hexagons is a metallic silver that just add so much to the layout. There’s the added bonus that it coordinates with every other piece of paper in the collection!

In my world, no layout is complete without some of Paper House’s fabulous 3D Stickers. I used one of the larger ones for my basketball title and to add a bit of dimension to the center of my photos with the 3D basketball.

I needed something to ground the layout at the bottom, so I added some basketball washi tape. The basketball washi tape comes as a set. You get both the die cut basketballs and the black and metallic silver striped washi tape. You might be noticing that I love the metallic silver touches that run all through this collection and the coordinating embellishments.

I completed the layout with some card stock stickers (7th Grade) clustered up with a few more 3D stickers.

No matter what sports season you’re in right now Paper House has just the sticker for that!

Password Book

Hello! Samantha here with you. Today I have a functional project to share: A Password Book. Password books are a great way to keep your usernames and passwords organized in one place.

Supplies: Harry Potter Hogwarts Crest Pocket Notes, Harry Potter Gryffindor Tags Foil Paper, Harry Potter Hufflepuff Tags Foil Paper, Harry Potter Ravenclaw Tags Foil Paper, Harry Potter Slythering Tags Foil Paper, Harry Potter Micro Stickers

I chose a Harry Potter themed Pocket Notes book for my password book (because who better than wizards to keep my passwords safe), but if you’re not a huge Potter geek like, you can find lots of Pocket Note books here.

Start by choosing how you’re going to organize your book. I played around with the idea of organizing it into categories (like social media, shopping, entertainment, etc), but in the end I decided to organize it alphabetically. Organize your book any way that makes the most sense to you.

I created tabs from coordinating Harry Potter patterned paper.

Here’s a peek at the inside of the book, and how I’ll be organizing my information. I used a pen for the permanent information and will be writing things like my username and password in pencil. If you’re not comfortable writing your passwords in the book you can write a password hint instead.

Finally, to add a little extra fun to my password book, I sprinkled Harry Potter Micro Stickers throughout the book.

Setting up a password book takes a little bit of time, but once you have one, you’ll be so happy you can find all those random passwords whenever you need them.

Harry Potter Card and Matching Envelope

Hello! Samantha here with you. In case you didn’t know, I am a full on lover of all things Harry Potter. However, even if you’re not a crazy fan like me, you probably have someone in your life who is. Today I’m sharing a Harry Potter card and matching envelope that you can create for that HP fan in your life.

Harry Potter Birthday Card and Matching Envelope Small

Supplies: Harry Potter™ Gryffindor Tags Foil Paper, Harry Potter™ Hogwarts at Night Foil Paper, Harry Potter™ Chibi Faux Enamel Stickers, Harry Potter™ Planner Stickers, Black Card Stock, Gold Card Stock, Dimensional Adhesive

Harry Potter Birthday Card and Matching Envelope-004 Small

I really wanted these cute Chibi stickers to take front and center, so I framed them with the Harry Potter™ Gryffindor Tags Foil Paper and some gold card stock. It’s hard to do these awesome faux enamel stickers justice in a photo, but (as I hope you can see) these stickers are framed in gorgeous shiny gold. There are so many cute Harry Potter Chibi stickers that you could easily customize your card for the recipient by switching out the characters I chose for your recipients favorite characters.

Harry Potter Birthday Card and Matching Envelope-003 Small

I used Harry Potter™ Hogwarts at Night Foil Paper for my background and layered it all on a black card stock base. I left a greeting off the outside of the card. This lends to the clean appearance and allows me to customize the greeting on the inside of the card to match the occasion. The final size of my Harry Potter card measures 6″ long by 3″ tall.

Harry Potter Birthday Card and Matching Envelope-001 Small

To complete this set, I created a matching envelope for the card. You can send fun patterned paper envelopes like this through the mail as long as the address is clear. I used the Harry Potter™ Planner Stickers to create space for both send to and return address.

This Harry Potter card and matching envelope may not be your Hogwarts letter, but it still should be a pretty fun piece of mail to receive!

Personalizing a Travel Layout

Hello! Samantha here with you. We recently returned from a trip to Germany, so today I want to share a little about personalizing a travel layout.

Travel Layout

Supplies: Explore Your World Passport Stamps, Explore Your World Luggage Tags, Explore Your World Map, Explore Your World Tags, Around the World Puffy Stickers, Germany 3-D Stickers, Southwest Adventure Paper Crafting Kit (white alphas), Color Washed Cardstock Multi Pack

Travel Layout-002

Explore Your World is everything I want in a travel collection: fun patterns, all-inclusive travel themes, beautiful words, and a gorgeous color palette. I prefer generic themed travel collections so that I can use it over a lot of photos on multiple layuots from a trip of any kind. I then customize my layout with more location specific stickers and embellishments.

Travel Layout-001

Since Paper House has so many great stickers (seriously my favorite thing about Paper House is the amazing variety of stickers), you’ll never have a hard time finding just what you need to customize your layout. I used alphabet stickers to add the name of the town. Because the town has two names, I used two different styles of stickers to add to the fun. Next, I used a Germany 3-D sticker to tie it all together. The mix of card stock stickers and 3D stickers adds texture to the layout as well. Our trip was overseas travel, so I stuck with Geo tag, map, and airplane themes for the rest of my embellishments. If you’re scrapping a beach trip you could use embellishments from collections like Sundrenched for a different kind of personalization.
