Botanical Layout

Hello! Samantha here today with a botanical layout using some of the new greenery papers. If you haven’t fallen in love with these papers yet, just take a peek at these gorgeous prints!

Supplies: Cherish Double Sided Paper, Greenery Double Sided Paper, Adventure at Heart 3D Stickers, Drinks Faux Enamel Stickers, Cameras Puffy Sticker, Paper House ColorWays Stickers

I am so ready for spring and everything that feels like spring. These greenery papers are so pretty and right on trend with their lovely botanical prints and soft floral themes. I feel like these patterns are so versatile, too. I have plans to make some wedding cards with it, they’re great for spring photos, and my layout today showcases them as a travel layout.

My photos are from a brew house that my husband and I visited while on vacation in Germany. The weather was gorgeous so we enjoyed our beer and dessert outside. The soft blues and green botanical prints seemed like the perfect background for highlighting these spring, outdoor photos.

I never seem to have enough journaling cards. One way to make cards that fit the theme of your layout is to add stickers to a piece of grid paper or plain card stock. For this journaling card I used one of Paper House’s faux enamel stickers. Faux enamel stickers are one of my very favorite embellishments. They pack a lot of bang for your buck. The gold foil on these stickers make them look especially rich and make any project look fancy.

For a bit more texture, I added some 3D stickers and some puffy stickers to the layout. The 3D stickers have some gold foiling that matches the faux enamel stickers and a bit of glitter for some extra sparkle.

Travel Food Layout

Hello! Samantha here today with a travel food layout. My husband and I aren’t foodies by any means, but we are adventurous eaters. Whenever we travel we like to try any and every new food we can. It’s the only time I take lots and lots of photos of what we eat and drink!

Supplies: Explore Your World Passport Stamps, Explore Your World Map, Explore Your World Tags, Around the World Puffy Stickers, World Travel and Big Adventure Sticker Value Pack, Travel Planner Stickers

These photos are from Germany. While doner kebab is Turkish, not German, it’s super popular in Germany. My husband came back to the hotel one night with this yummy doner kebab in a box.

Paper House has released some of its stickers as 2 pack card stock sticker value packs. I grabbed more than a few of them, because they really are a fantastic value. I used the World Travel and Big Adventure sticker pack on this layout.

For my papers, I chose to use Explore Your World. This collection is the perfect travel collection. It’s full of rich colors and fun travel prints. The multi color flag style print of the Explore Your World Passport Stamps paper is one of my favorite papers. I love the multiple shades of blue and the pops of yellow and orange. It’s a great piece for tying everything together.

Since the card stock stickers are flat, I added some dimension with puffy stickers and silver foiled card stock stickers.

I finished up the layout with a bit of journaling. I made the journaling card from part of the Explore Your World Tags paper.

Spruce up your Snail Mail with 3D Embellishments!

By Liv Phillips

I have been avidly writing letter since 2012. Currently, I write to over 200 people across the world and have sent over 2,000 letters. In this time I have learned a few things or to about the do’s and don’ts of sending mail! The first thing that I have learned is that you can be very creative and experimental on what you can send through the mail. I have sent pouches, clear goodie bags, giant postcards and small boxes through the mail and all have reached their destination.

While I usually keep my mail art fairly flat sometimes I like to step out of my own comfort zone and add 3D textured Elements to what I create. I found that the Paper House Productions line of 3D stickers stay on the snailmail that I send. They don’t come off in the postal machines nor do get battered when being sent thousands of miles to their new destination.

This piece of mail I sent to Boston from Portland, Oregon. The embellishments did not come off. My recipient loved the 3D nature of the mail and of course the glittered accents.

Sometimes I do have to modify the 3D stickers if the peices are too bulky or if the stickers need more adhesive added to them. For this I simply pull the foam stickers of from the back of the stickers or use an exacto knife. I then use a craft bond adhesive to make sure that the sticker will stay on.

For this particular piece I decided that the Discover London sticker would be too bulky to reach its destination in Norway. I peeled off the backing of the sticker and then used a craft bond glue stick to adhere it to the envelope. Before I send any mail out I always wiggle any 3D element stickers or puffy stickers to make sure they will stay on. If your fingers can move them add an extra layer of glue!

When sending extra bulky mail always make sure that you use proper postage. I usually add postage for an additional ounce and for mail that is non-machinable. Make sure you check with your local post office to make sure you get the proper rates, but most importantly have fun creating fun 3D Mail Art!

Thanksgiving Layout

Hello! Samantha here today with a Thanksgiving layout. I love this time of year. From fall through Christmas, I just can’t get enough of all of the festive fun. To keep everything enjoyable and not stressful, I plan a lot in advance. This year I figured I could even try planning my Thanksgiving layout in advance.

Supplies: Autumn Woods Autumn Air, Autumn Woods, Autumn Woods Pumpkin Spice, Autumn Woods Washi, Autumn Woods Puffy Stickers, Autumn Woods Cardstock Stickers, Give Thanks 3D Stickers, Kraft Card Stock

Since this is going to be a Thanksgiving layout, I wanted to build my layout around the Give Thanks 3D Stickers. They pair beautifully with the Autumn Woods collection, which is full of deep purples, rich browns, soft teal, and pumpkin orange with pops of white, yellow, and green.

Once I had a rough idea of what paper and stickers I wanted to use, I had to decide how many photos I wanted to take and use on my layout. We host Thanksgiving. I love it, but it’s busy, and I’d rather spend time with my family than fuss over photos. With that in mind, I decided two pictures will be enough. I plan on taking one picture of everyone gathered and one picture of the food.

To give myself an idea of what the finished layout will look like with photos on it, I cut photo mats to use as placeholders for the photos. I plan on using a 4″ x 6″ photo and a 4″ x 4″ photo, so I cut photo mats in 4 1/4″ x 6 1/4″ and 4 1/4″ x 6 1/4″.

With this naked layout finished, all I will have to do is print out my two photos and attach them to my page after thanksgiving. Prepping this page ahead of time is an easy way to keep my holidays documented without feeling overwhelmed.

Great Outdoors Layout

Hello! Samantha here today with a Great Outdoors layout created with one of my all time favorite Paper House collections. We’ve had an abnormally warm September and October this year, and we’re taking every opportunity to enjoy time outside.

Supplies:Great Outdoors Hunting Paper Crafting Kit, Great Outdoors Camping Tags, Great Outdoors 3D Sticker, Great Outdoors Rice Paper Borders, Great Outdoors Puffy Stickers, Great Outdoors Epoxy Stickers, Great Outdoors Epoxy Clips

Aptly named “Great Outdoors,” this collection is one of my absolute favorite for scrapping any outdoor photos. While it’s often habit to reach for the gorgeous Autumn Woods collection, Great Outdoors is another fabulous option for scrapping any outdoor activities any time of the year.

You can get the Great Outdoors as part of a themed kit (Hunting, Fishing, or Camping), or you can get individual sheets of patterned paper. The kits come with a set of card stock stickers and a set of 3D stickers, as well. The card stock sticker sheet can only be found in the kits, while papers and 3D stickers can be purchased separately.

I started my layout by layering the patterned papers I wanted to use. Then I added the flat card stock stickers from the sheet included in the Great Outdoors kits. There are coordinating alphas on the sheet that are perfect for creating a title. After I had every flat embellishment on my layout, I added texture with rice paper borders, and epoxy and puffy stickers. As a finishing touch, I added the epoxy clip to my photo.

Whether its spring, summer, or fall outside photos look wonderful scrapped with the Great Outdoors collection.

If you need to add some of the Great Outdoors papers, stickers, or kits to your stash, make sure to use code PH19SAMANTHA to get 20% off your entire purchase at Paper House.

Happy Halloween Layout

Hello! Samantha here today with a happy Halloween layout. I’m a pretty organized person, and I so love all the fun from fall through Christmas. To keep this time of year a bit more stress free, I actually use a binder that I organize at least 100 days before Christmas to plan out all of our Halloween through Christmas fun. Putting together my binder for this year got me so excited to start crafting and scrapping for Halloween that I just had to pull out a photo from last year and get documenting!

Supplies: Wicked Good Trouble is Brewing, Wicked Good Ghosts, Wicked Good Tags, Wicked Good Halloween Epoxy Stickers, Wicked Good Halloween Puffy Stickers, Wicked Good Halloween Stick On Pockets, Wicked Good Cobweb Acetate

The Wicked Good Halloween collection from Paper House is just so fun. It has all of your favorite Halloween icons like ghosts, pumpkins, witches, candy corn, skulls, and spiders, and it does a fantastic job of walking that line between not too cutesy and not too creepy. It really makes these papers and embellishments perfect for scrapping everyone from little kids to adults. My only complaint is that there are so many great embellishments that I couldn’t find a way to use them all on this layout (I didn’t even get a chance to use the fabulous Halloween Washi).

I maximized my embellishment use by placing them in groups around my photo. This way I got to use many of the embellishments, but they draw your eye to the photo instead of taking focus away from it. I also used a stick on pocket as a journaling tag. You’ll need a marker that is permanent on slick surfaces if you’d like to try this trick for yourself.

What are you working on for Halloween this year?

Football Layout

Hello! Samantha here today with a football layout. I don’t know about you, but in our house fall means lots of football; playing and cheering on our favorite teams. Until this year, my kids only played flag football. This year is my oldest son’s first year of tackle football, so I definitely needed to document his first game.

Supplies: All Star Paper Pad, Football 3D Stickers, Football Mixed Stickers, Football Cardstock Stickers, Football Faux Enamel Stickers

This is one of those layouts where the wide variety of stickers that Paper House carries really helps make the layout come together. Because I chose the big, all over football print as my base for this layout, I had to keep the rest of my paper choices pretty neutral. I went with a football turf green paper for one accent and a blue paper for my second accent (my son’s school colors are black, blue, and white).

To help add pizazz to this layout, I added quite a few stickers in different textures and finishes to tell the story. I layered flat alpha stickers over a card stock football sticker. I put a faux enamel arrow pointing to my son in the sea of Nighthawk football players, so I’ll always remember which one he was. I layered clear metallic stickers over the photo. I also added some 3D and chipboard stickers to add more texture.

Many of the football stickers and some of the patterned paper from All Star have touches of metallic gold or silver to them which really helps tie everything together into one cohesive layout.

Whether you’re cheering on a favorite team or a favorite player, Paper House has all the football stickers and papers you need to document your team spirit.

Camping Nights in Pockets

Hi crafty friends! Natalie here with you on this last day of September sharing my favorite way to include numerous photos on a scrapbook page. I love to use pocket pages. They can house so many pictures without any hassle of figuring out how the layout will look.

I used the Camping Tags Double Sided paper as some of my pocket cards. I backed my smaller photos with papers from the travel paper collections.

Those adorable Great Outdoors Epoxy Stickers are the perfect tiny embellishment for a 3×4 pocket.

Using this Discover USA paper dictated the colors in my layout . I printed these 2×3 tiny photos 4 to a 4×6 photo collage & they work great for pocket pages.

My rules for pocket pages are typically to keep from putting two full 3×4 photos right next to one another, as well as break up the pattern paper with some solids.

I usually fit all of my journaling onto a specific journaling card, but sometimes I will add extra snippets with small photos on a tiny die cut tag.

Repeating this fun patterned Passport Stamps double sided page in another 3×4 pocket, along with the stripes of the same colors in the 4×6 pocket, helps tie in the rows.

I love how well these Great Outdoors Puffy Stickers are the best size for a 3×4 pocket!

I hope you’ve been inspired to create a pocket page – they’re such a great, easy, quick way to document some of your memories. I love to combine them with a 12×12 traditional layout!

Falling into Halloween Scrapbooking

Natalie here today to share a Halloween scrapbook page with you! I know it’s not October, but it’s officially fall, so I was ready for some Halloween scrapbooking!

I grabbed this awesomely festive pumpkin paper from PHP called Wicked good & used it to back the word RAWR! My boys were a tiger and a dino – so roaring was in order all night.

How cute are these Halloween puffy stickers?!

I could use them on 100 projects!

This double sided paper is very thick & holds up well on your paper projects. And this ghost is the cutest!

I used the small puffy stickers to hold in my journaling on this portion of the layout – a fun way to frame text!

A subtitle of puffy stickers is always a good idea.

You can find more fun Halloween goodies in the Paper House Productions store & get 20% off your order using the code PH19NATALIE. Grab some now for an entire month of holiday crafting!

Personalizing a Travel Layout

Hello! Samantha here with you. We recently returned from a trip to Germany, so today I want to share a little about personalizing a travel layout.

Travel Layout

Supplies: Explore Your World Passport Stamps, Explore Your World Luggage Tags, Explore Your World Map, Explore Your World Tags, Around the World Puffy Stickers, Germany 3-D Stickers, Southwest Adventure Paper Crafting Kit (white alphas), Color Washed Cardstock Multi Pack

Travel Layout-002

Explore Your World is everything I want in a travel collection: fun patterns, all-inclusive travel themes, beautiful words, and a gorgeous color palette. I prefer generic themed travel collections so that I can use it over a lot of photos on multiple layuots from a trip of any kind. I then customize my layout with more location specific stickers and embellishments.

Travel Layout-001

Since Paper House has so many great stickers (seriously my favorite thing about Paper House is the amazing variety of stickers), you’ll never have a hard time finding just what you need to customize your layout. I used alphabet stickers to add the name of the town. Because the town has two names, I used two different styles of stickers to add to the fun. Next, I used a Germany 3-D sticker to tie it all together. The mix of card stock stickers and 3D stickers adds texture to the layout as well. Our trip was overseas travel, so I stuck with Geo tag, map, and airplane themes for the rest of my embellishments. If you’re scrapping a beach trip you could use embellishments from collections like Sundrenched for a different kind of personalization.

Explore Your World is the perfect base for creating all your travel layouts. If you need some Explore Your World in your life, click her for the Paper House website and use code PH19SAMANTHA when you check out for 20% off your entire order. What trip will you be scrapping next?
