Happy Birthday Layout by Majken

Hiya crafty friends!  Majken joining you today to share a rainbow themed layout that I created for Paper House Productions.  Creating this one was so much fun!

I first pulled a rainbow of papers from the Color Washed paper pad and cut balloons using the balloon die from My Favorite Things Blueprint 26 set.  Just laying those balloons out made me happy!

Next, I glued some older Close To My Heart fibers as the balloon strings.  Once that was dry, I included the “HAPPY” (JustNick Outline Alpha) and the birthday over the strings.

After putting my photo on the layout, I sprinkled a few enamel dots, keeping it simple.

Thanks for stopping by today…make it a fun one!

September Sketch Challenge

It’s a new month and that means Samantha is back with us for a new sketch to help get those creative juices flowing!  Here’s what the sketch looks like:

September Sketch

With six spots for photos you can make quick work of an event!  Samantha used it to create a birthday themed layout.

Instead of using 6 pictures she was able to use one of the open spots for her title!  Her combination of 3D Birthday Stickers and the Birthday Faux Enamel Stickers is perfect!

Product Challenge: Girls Layouts with Tutorials!

Last week you saw our team taking on the challenge of crafting with minimal supplies and showcasing the boys!  This week we’re doing the same thing – using minimal supplies – but we’re showcasing the girls!  Let’s dive into what the team has created!

Creating girls layouts with the Color Washed Collection

Christine is starting us off with this layout that is exclusively the patterned papers from the challenge which are all in the Color Washed Collection!  Here’s a video walking you thru how she made it:

ericarose.hellobeautiful

Erica also focused a lot on the patterned papers but she also brought in some beautiful stickers and mixed media as well.  Let’s check out her video:

Be sure to check back in later in the week to see what other creations our team came up with!

Help keep the kids (or teachers) excited about reading by creating one of a kind bookmarks! Stephanie combined Color Washed with our Enamel Stickers to create these beautiful ones.

Scrapbook Layouts

We’ve all seen the Back to School layouts perfectly themed and jam packed with primary colors.  Today, we don’t have those.  Today, our designers thought out of the box and captured those memories with some of our colorful (but not school themed) collections!

PHP-Aug. School-LO-Yvette

By adding the perfect cut file, Yvette was able to take patterned paper from Color Washed and turn it into a Back to School layout.  Combining it with encouraging stickers made it even more perfect!

Always Believe in Yourself - Majken Pullin for PHP

Majken also turned to her cut files and created a beautiful and encouraging layout.  The colors from Color Washed are a perfect match to the background!

Clear Sticker Backgrounds=Travel Fun!

IMG_6923Today, I got to have a ton of fun by choosing a product that I have been wanting to work with and haven’t gotten a chance to yet. I knew immediately that I wanted to use the Sticky Pix Clear Cuts Adventure Awaits with Foil Accents . I didn’t intend to use the whole pack…but….109 stickers later, I am in love with this super fun custom background!

IMG_6922

I started out by tracing around a kitchen bowel (yep! very technical and sophisticated work) to create the orange background for my photo to be contained within. I knew that this was going to have to be pretty bold and not too busy because of the rest of my layout design ideas. I then used by sewing machine to add some stitching around the outside border of the page as well as around the circle element.

Next, it was time to go sticker crazy! I grabbed the sticker flip book and just started adding stickers to the entire background. I started with the biggest designs and moved by way thru all the way to the smallest designs.

IMG_6921

Last step? I went ahead and added some patterned paper scraps behind my photo and a few more stickers from The Great Outdoors Camping Paper Crafting Kit on dimensional adhesive and the layout was complete!

I would love to have you stop by the process video and check out how this fun layout came together.

Scrapbook Layout Featuring Wonder Woman Planner Stickers

PHP Intro ImageHappy March! I cannot believe how quickly this year is going already. How are you doing with getting your stories told? One story that I have been wanting to tell for awhile is about my nickname (Wonder Woman). As soon as Paper House Productions released their Wonder Woman products, I knew that I just had to use them to get this story told.

IMG_7095

This layout was sparked by this keychain photo. My kids bought me this keychain to help remind me how strong they think that I am and because they all call me Wonder Woman. Sometimes, this little reminder can definitely help make it through a tough day so I wanted to make sure that I documented this phase of life since everything seems to change so quickly.

IMG_7098

I started out by tracing a couple of plates from my kitchen to create the circles for the background that I wanted to hand-stitch. Then, I printed off an online coloring book page (these are great if you haven’t ever tried it) to use as a template for creating my paper-pieced Wonder Woman logo. That yellow paper is from the Sundrenched Paper Pad and it worked perfectly to create a subtle mixed media look without any mess!

IMG_7096

Next, I created a little flip tab on the top left corner and used by mini stapler to attach it the background. That gave me a perfect little home for this puffy sticker of Wonder Woman as well as a couple of stars.

IMG_7097

Finally, it was time for some embellishing and a title. I added stickers from the Wonder Woman Planner Stickers booklet all around my photo and then added some puffy sticker stars from the Justice League Chibi Heroes Puffy Stickers sets. A title and some journaling and this layout was complete!

I am really looking forward to playing with these licensed products even more as I have lots of superhero dress-up photos of my kids as well as Halloween costumes, plays, and a custom bat mobile bed that my little guy used to have…but those are stories for a different day! I hope that you enjoyed seeing how I documented my superhero nickname and I will see you again soon!

Travel Scrapbook Title Page Featuring Stitching

Travel Scrapbook Title Page Featuring Stitching
I’m so excited to be back with another fun project including some stitching as well as the amazing and fun dimensional Destinations stickers. I really struggle sometimes with creating the perfect title page for a travel album and these stickers really jump-started my creativity.

Travel Scrapbook Title Page Featuring Stitching

For this project, I printed an online image of the outline of the United States and used it as a pattern to create a hand-stitched version of the map on the top portion of my layout. I knew that the smaller detailed stickers in the Travel-Washington D.C. Destinations pack as well as the Travel- Let Freedom Ring Destinations pack would work as great city markers to indicate where our trip started and stopped on the map. It was easy to create a curved flight path with more embroidery floss between the two icons.

Travel Scrapbook Title Page Featuring Stitching

I cut my photo to a 4×4 size and used more of the Destinations stickers from both packs to create some border details around the top and bottom edges. I then added some patterned paper banners and a few arrows as well as the eagle insignia to those banners. A few lines of journaling and a little washi tape border and this title page was complete! I really hope that you will also join me over on my You Tube channel where I talk a little bit more about my product choices and how I created this look.

Unicorn Scrapbook Layout

Daisie Hansen Circle

Hello everyone!  Daisie here with my first layout and YouTube video for Paper House Productions!  I chose to use the Marbleous paper pack to create a fun and colorful layout.  Add in the stickers from this collection and we have a beautiful unicorn and who doesn’t love a unicorn?

Paper House Productions Design Team Unicorn Scrapbook Layout Featuring the Marbleous Collection

Unicorn Layout Supply List:  Marbleous collection paper pack with foil accents and stickers

I used some silver mixed media and a cut file to create the unicorn.  I used the same medium to create the starry background.  The star stickers from this collection spread the color around the page nicely.  My title also came from the sticker sheet.  The repetitive colors in this layout pull your eye around the page.  To finish off the title I used a silver alpha from my stash.  For more detailed information please check out the video for this layout.

Camping Scrapbook Layout Featuring Hand Stitching

Camping Scrapbooking Layout Featuring 12x12 Paper Pad Details
I am super excited to be starting my adventure with Paper House Productions today featuring some of my favorite techniques. I was really inspired by the Marbleous and Color Washed 12×12 paper pads and knew that I wanted to use them to create a unique, hand-stitched element on my page. Hand-stitching is one of my absolute favorite design techniques!

Camping Scrapbooking Layout Featuring 12x12 Paper Pad Details

For this project, I printed an online image of a vintage trailer and used it as a pattern to create my own vintage trailer to include on my layout. The Marbleous paper pad was a perfect place to start with building the foundation pieces of my trailer. Then, I grabbed the Color Washed paper pad to include some bold accent details. I created a coordinating title element from the same paper choices and used my tab and label punches to create some embellishment clusters.

Camping Scrapbooking Layout Featuring 12x12 Paper Pad Details

I used the washi tape from the Summer Fun Life Organized collection to keep a subtle repeating design element throughout the layout. Adding a few puffy stickers and label stickers completed my look. I am SO excited about how this layout turned out and hope that you feel inspired to look at your paper pads in a new light!
