Paradise Found Layout & Video Tutorial

my-bio-picHello friends! Katty here. I am back today working with the beautiful Paradise Found Cruise Paper Crafting Kit. I love that there are several versions of the Paradise found Collection. I chose to work with the Cruise Version. I love the fun, tropical feel of this collection. Just looking through the papers and embellishments makes me wish I were sitting on a beach,  with a fruity drink in my hand, soaking up the sun.Nevertheless, I will settle for using this beautiful kit to document previous tropical memories.

Today I am scrapbooking a photo on my two boys and myself relaxing on a hammock on the Disney Cruise Private Island, Castaway Cay. This was our very first cruise and we had a fantastic time.

I immediately knew I wanted to incorporate the beautiful blues and pinks from this collection. I also knew I wanted to use the beautiful gold foil acetate sheet that coordinates with this collection. I decided  to cut out some of the sea stars in several different sizes from the acetate sheet. I also traced the stars on white cardstock and used my Shimmerz Paints to color them in coordinating colors. I used these as flowers. I scattered those around the page as well.a-fullsizerender

For my background, I chose to use one of the sheets of patterned paper which reminded me of sand and has a faint white script on it.

I created several layers behind my photo using the cut apart sheets. I even used one of the larger stickers in my layers. I love this mix of colors. One of the cards had a large oval in the center. I cut out the oval center and used that card over my photo.

I decided to place my photo on the top left and I created a cluster on the bottom right. I used one of the cut apart cards which has a sentiment that I love.

I added some of the adorable puffy stickers from the collection. I also used the 3D stickers from the Island Life and The Beach sticker sets. I love the texture and dimention that these stickers add to the layout.

There is a video tutorial on my YouTube channel of you’d like to watch.

I love how this turned out. Thanks so much for stopping by today! XOXO -Katty

Paradise Found Beach Layout

Who can’t wait for the snow to go and for the beach to open? Me (Carolyn)! No winter vacation for me, so I’ll just wait patiently for summer. In the mean time, I made this sand castle building layout with the Paradise Found collection. There is a basic one, a beach one and a cruise one. I mostly used the cruise one even though my picture has nothing to do with a cruise – that’s how versatile it is!

I began with the sand paper and ripped strips out of the water paper to layer on top. I love how these waves turned out! The back of the water paper had some darker blue so I ripped those strips for the sky. I cut a section out of the shell acetate paper and tucked it under the edge of my waves. I tried to hide the edge of the acetate with the title stickers that come in the kit. The anchor is from the Discover USA 3D sticker set.

Next, I framed my photo with some paper strips and a cut apart card. The flowers are fussy cut and embellished with 3D stickers and puffy stickers. These stickers are so cool – you really have to see them in person to get the full effect of their dimensions and sparkle. Here’s a look at the dimension of the Beach title sticker.

Thanks for checking out my layout. I can’t wait to see beachy layouts made with this collection popping up on social media.

Baby Boy Scrapbook Layout.

Hello Everyone!! I’m so excited to show you my first work in this post with Paper House Productions! I’m Renee Timmerman and to start out my time with Paper House, I’m working with the Baby Boy collection!!  Isn’t it just precious??

I thought this collection would be perfect for my best friend’s new baby!! What a great way to document all his first moments for her.

babyelipphFor this layout- I think there isn’t anything from this collection I didn’t touch! I love manipulating everything – making use out of every piece I can!!

For this layout, like I said I utilized literally every piece I could.  I love cut apart sheets for multiple purpose uses besides the common pocket scrapbooking! They are perfect  for layering behind the photo! I’m a bit of a layering fanatic, you’ll come to see.  I also love them as some “premade” journaling, as well as base for clusters of embellishments.

Did I mention that I love cut aparts also to fussy cut out the designs to make as my own embellishments? Granted I can’t cut completely smooth, but that’s what makes it look more homemade, tee hee ;). I couldn’t get enough of the cute puffy stickers as well as cardstock stickers! I think I used 75% of them on this layout- excuses to buy more right?

For this layout, I tried to have a look of embellishments that went diagonal along the page so neither side was too heavy. Cluster in the upper right and end toward the lower left. The sweet baby boy’s photo is the center piece in the middle.

I hope you enjoyed this page, and I can’t wait to show you more of what you can do with Paper House’s new collections!!  If you want to hear more about this layout as well as more work I do, check out my blog!

This cut apart card from the kit was just begging me to hand stitch it. So I matched up some embroidery thread to the colors on the card and cross-stitched away! It added the perfect touch and is a lovely addition to this layout!

I hand cut banners and punched circles from some different patterned paper to create my own unique embellishments.

I hope you have enjoyed my layout today! I love to create my own embellishments and add layers and unexpected details to my projects and I hope you enjoyed what I created for you today!

Boston Scrapbook Layout & Video Tutorial

Happy Weekend crafty friends!  Christine back with you today and I’m delighted to be sharing a layout with one of my Paper House Production’s brand new collections “Let Freedom Ring.”  I liked this collection as soon as I saw it so I knew I’d have fun creating with it.  The colors are a little out of my normal comfort zone BUT stepping out of my comfort zone often results in projects that I really love.  That is definitely true today – this is one of my favorites that I have created in months!  I am working with the Boston part of this collection.
Boston Layout Supply List:
I have lots of details as to how this layout all came together in the process video – here it is for you!
Here’s a few close-ups of my layout.
I completely forgot to mention this in the video but I added in some baseball puffy stickers.  Our day in Boston was mostly centered around Fenway Park – so these were the perfect addition to really personalize the layout further.

I love to do string art! And although it takes a good chunk of time, I am never disappointed with the results!  I used a coordinating color with the collection and built off the star theme seen in my background paper.
The cardstock stickers in this collection have some really neat words in a script font that work great for titles or subtitles.  I used this one in my top corner to add another little accent area to the layout.
This patriotic collection is available now in the store – be sure to swing by Paper House Productions and check it out!

I especially love the tag papers and cardstock stickers that are a part of the Let Freedom Ring collection. I combined a few of the tags with some of the card stock tickers to create an embellishment cluster that draws your eye to the photos. It also gave me a great place to journal about my photos.

Don’t be afraid to use stickers that aren’t part of the collection if they help tell the story of your photos. Here, I used a Sticky Pix Lips sticker. Even though they’re not patriotic, they go with my photo and even help draw attention to the subject of it.

Let Freedom Ring is a fantastic patriotic collection. It makes scrapping photos from occasions like the 4th of July super fun and easy! How will you use Let Freedom Ring?

Autumn Woods Pop-Up card and Collage

For the next two weeks we will be featuring Designer’s Favorites – We asked each design team member to showcase their favorite Paper House Productions products in a project.  Sue’s favorite is the new Autumn Woods Collection and she’s got a couple of projects to share today using it!

Autumn Woods Pop Up Card 92

Supplies Used:

One of the best things about being on a design team is the opportunity to work with awesome products.  When I got my last box of goodies from Paper House Productions I instantly fell in love with the Autumn Woods Collection.

Autumn Woods Pop Up Card 083

The sweet water colored animals are cute without being to cutesy.  I knew as soon as I saw them that they needed to be made into a pop-up card.

Autumn Woods Pop Up Card 084

Tips…

  • I apply baby powder on the back of my stickers with a small paintbrush to remove the tackiness.  That way I can use my stickers like die-cuts.
  • On the front of the card:  I love adding dimension… so under the “Autumn is in the Air” and the “bunnies” I used 3-D foam mounting squares.
  • Add even more dimension to the inside of your pop up card by adding thin foam mounting squares to the stickers “tree” and  “autumn woods” and strategically placing them on the background.
  • I created a couple of pop-up steps for my forest friends.

Autumn Woods Collage 115

While cleaning up the Autumn Woods scraps laying on my desk, I decided to make aFall Collage using a rummage sale frame I picked up last month for next to nothing.

All in all… I would have to say that the Autumn Woods Collection has to be my favorite Paper House Productions collection so far.  (at least for the time being)
