Mini Cards

Hello! Samantha here with you today. I find more and more lately that I want to spread a little happiness and kindness whenever I can. These mini cards are a wonderful way to do just that. Their small size makes them perfect for jotting down a quick note of encouragement or putting in a small gift card for a cup of coffee.

Supplies: Mommy Lhey Be Yourself 3D Sticker, Bloom Rose Garden Tags Double Sided Paper, Bloom Rose Garden Double Sided Paper

As you can see, the supply list for these cards is very simple, which makes this a set of cards that can be made in under 30 minutes!

I wanted to create something with these super cute Mommy Lhey Be Yourself 3D stickers. Besides having some wonderful words of encouragement, they have the cutest glittery ladies on them, so I decided that some mini cards would be the perfect way to use the 3D stickers. There’s so much texture to these stickers, that I decided to pair them with a bit of patterned paper and keep the rest of the design very simple.

These mini cards measure 3 x 4 (when folded), which means they’re big enough to hold a gift card if desired.

I paired the 3D stickers with paper from the Bloom collection. The Rose Garden paper makes a great base. The subtle rose patter makes a pretty background for the outside of the page, and the watercolor pink side allows you to write on the inside without having to layer on a piece of card stock.

I used tags cut from the Rose Garden Tags paper to add accent layers to the front of the cards. The smaller patterns found on the tags are perfect for these mini cards.

Autumn Cards

Hello! Samantha here with you. Fall is officially here, the temperatures are dropping (and so are the leaves), pumpkins are showing up everywhere, and combines are working overtime in my part of the world, so today I thought it would be the perfect time to share a pair of autumn cards.

Supplies: Autumn Woods Pumpkin Spice Double Sided Paper, Autumn Woods Woodland Friends Double Sided Paper, Autumn Woods Epoxy Stickers, Fall Leaves 3D Sticker, Birthday Faux Enamel Sticker

I wanted to create a set of autumn cards that featured Paper House’s gorgeous Fall Leaves 3D Stickers. The autumnal colors and gold foil accents make them the perfect focal point or accent for any fall themed card. I mixed the 3D Leaves Stickers with paper and embellishments from Paper House’s quintessential fall collection; Autumn Woods.

I made one card into a thank you card, primarily because I can never have (or send) enough thank you cards. The “so very grateful” greeting is a strip of paper directly from the Autumn Woods Woodland Friends double sided paper. I turned the second card into a birthday card with some help from a birthday faux enamel sticker. The gold foil of the enamel sticker pairs perfectly with the gold foiled 3D leaves. I layered the birthday greeting over a pumpkin that I cut from the same Autumn Woods Woodland Friends double sided paper that I cut the “so very grateful” greeting from. I happen to have a family member with an autumn birthday, so I already have plans for this fall themed birthday card.

Fall weather and cozy autumn cards are a perfect pair, and these cards are a fun way to send a personalized, handmade greetings.

Harry Potter Washi Cards

Hello! Samantha here with you. Today I have a trio of Harry Potter washi cards to share. While I’m focusing on Harry Potter today (because I love all things Harry Potter), you could easily recreate these cards with any of Paper House’s amazing washi tapes.

Supplies: Harry Potter Chibi Scenes Washi Tape Set, Harry Patter Chibi Washi Tape Set, Harry Potter House Crests Washi Tape Set, Harry Potter Quidditch Washi Tape Set, Harry Potter House Crests Faux Enamel Stickers, Harry Potter Cardstock Stickers, Harry Potter Chibi 3D Sticker

If you’ve ever looked at a set of washi tape and wished it could be patterned paper, this is your chance! The house crest card was the first card I thought of with the Harry Potter Washi. Paired with the House Crest Faux Enamel stickers, you have quite a stunning card. The best part about this card is that you can customize it to the recipient’s Hogwarts House. I made this one for a Ravenclaw. I also added a little sorting hat detail in the upper left hand corner.

For this second card, I also striped the washi tape at a diagonal, but instead of two different washi tapes (like the house crest card) I used four. Honestly, I couldn’t decide whether I should use the Harry Potter Chibi Scenes Washi Tape Set or the Harry Patter Chibi Washi Tape Set, so I decided to just use both. I love the final result. For the embellishment on this card, I used a cardstock sticker.

For this last card, I used the Harry Potter Quidditch washi tape set to create a horizontal stripe pattern. Photos don’t do this card justice. The gold foil on the black quidditch washi really pops in person. For the embellishment on this card I used a Harry Potter Chibi 3D sticker.

I chose a variety of different types of embellishments so you could see that everything from cardstock stickers, to faux enamels, to 3D stickers will all work on washi tape cards.

I can’t wait to mail these out to some Harry Potter loving friends!

Basketball Cards

Hello! Samantha here today with a set of sports themed basketball cards. This group of 4 cards is a great way to have some sports themed cards in your stash for when you need them, or (if you’re like me) catch up on a few belated thank yous.

Supplies: All Star 12″ Paper Pad, Basketball Essentials Sticker, Basketall Washi Tape Set, Sports Planner Stickers, Sentiment stamps or stickers

I needed some thank you cards for my sons’ basketball coaches, but these cards could easily be made into birthday or just because cards by swapping out the sentiment.

The All Star Paper Pad is my go to for all of my sports needs; scrapping sports, sports themed cards, and sport themed party decorations. I stuck to a basketball theme for these cards, but you’ll also find baseball, soccer, and football in the paper pad.

Paper House has such a large offering of stickers and embellishments that it’s easy to grab the paper pad (which also includes a card stock sticker sheet) and a few matching embellishments to create a fabulous card.

For these cards, I went for some 3d stickers, a bit of washi tape, and some planner stickers as embellishments. The best part is that the planner stickers are in the new Great Deals section on the website. If you haven’t checked out the Great Deals section, make sure to head over there. It’s full of discounts, sales, grab boxes, specials, and more. On top of that, you can use any of the creative team member’s codes (you can find mine at the end of this post) at checkout and get an additional 20% off an already awesome deal.

This set of basketball thank you cards is all set and ready for the mail!

Mother’s Day Cards

Hello! Samantha here today. Mother’s Day is right around the corner, so I created a couple of Mother’s Day cards to share and hopefully inspire you.

Supplies: Full Bloom Double Sided Paper, Rose Garden Tags Double Sided Paper, Narhwal Faux Enamel Sticker, Mommy Lhey Blush Washi Tape Set, Carole Shiber Hand-Painted Honeybees Washi Tape Set, Inspirational Sticker Book

I’m loving these new Bloom papers. They are so very pretty with lovely floral outlines, and also extremely versatile. I love looking through Paper House’s other offerings of stickers, planner accessories, and washi tapes to find ways to embellish this collection. Depending on what you choose to use, the papers can take on a completely different feel. For example, in the card above I used black and gold washi tape. The addition of black on the card changes the whole mood of the card and makes it a bit more sophisticated.

For the card above, I focused on gold foil accents. I used some floral faux enamel stickers. I am a huge fan of the faux enamel stickers. They always add a special touch to any project, and they are flat enough to be used as an embellishment on a card and still be able to be mailed with standard postage. I also added some washi tape that has gold foil accents on it. The floral print washi from the Mommy Lhey Blush washi set has some gorgeous pops of gold throughout. Choosing floral embellishments to accent this card gives it a softer feel than the previous card.

I love creating handmade cards for Mother’s Day. Nothing sends love quite like a card you took the time to create with that specific person in mind. Whether your celebrating someone or being celebrated this Mother’s Day, I hope you have a wonderful one!

St. Patrick’s Day Card

Hello! Samantha here today. One of my favorite holidays is coming up: St. Patrick’s Day. We have Irish ancestors and are very proud of it. I always send my Irish grandparents a card to celebrate, so today I have my St. Patrick’s Day card and matching envelope to share with you.

Supplies: Marbelous 12 x 12 Paper Pad, St. Patrick’s – March Sticker Kit, Mommy Lhey – Wild and Free Sticker Kit, Heart Punch (or die), Envelope Maker

I wanted to show a few things when making this St. Patrick’s Day card. First, I wanted to show that you don’t need a St. Paddy’s themed paper collection to create a card for the holiday. I knew Marbelous had a fantastic green as part of the collection, plus I love the white and gold paper that’s part of that collection. I forgot about the orange paper that’s also perfect for a St. Paddy’s card.

I also used a piece of the green Marbelous paper to create a matching envelop, because every card looks even better with a matching envelope.

The second thing I wanted to share is how easy it is to make a shamrock with a heart punch or die. Four quick punches with a heart punch and you’ve got the 4 leaves of your 4 leaf clover. I used some foam adhesive to pop them up in the middle of the card.

The last thing I wanted to share was a reminder that Paper House planner stickers aren’t just for planners. They make great embellishments for layouts and cards!

Paper House has a planner sticker for just about every holiday or occasion, so the possibilities are endless. Have a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day!

Tiny Greetings with Natalie

Hey friends! Natalie here with some tiny holiday greeting cards that are so cute & easy to whip out in the very few days we have left before Christmas!

I created these tiny cards & envelopes for tins of baked goods we are giving our friends.

I think the envelopes are a great way to add a wow factor to a homemade greeting card. The smaller, the more impact because who doesn’t love a tiny envelope?

I used the Christmas Joy Craft Set to create these cards. I created the envelopes with a little tool and used Paper House patterned paper for that as well. Then I used the cardstock stickers and some 3d elements to embellish.

Another way to add a wow factor to your small greeting cards is to add sewing. It is a quick step to add texture, and non-crafty recipients will be wowed!

I love to layer my embellishments to add dimension. I added cardstock stickers or glitter die cuts, and then added a second layer of 3d embellishmetns or another cardstock sticker. I also used the Christmas Joy puffy stickers!

These tiny cards came together so quickly, they’d be a fast project you can complete before the big day on Wednesday. They’d also be great translated into Valentine’s cards!

I wish you all a very merry Christmas & a happy New Year! I cannot wait to see what all Paper House has in store for us in 2020!

World Card Making Day – Card Sketch!

It’s time to celebrate World Card Making Day! October is always a month I look forward to for many reasons, but one of the reasons is World Card Making Day! I always enjoy taking one day to just create cards, I create all types of cards and usually this is when I get started on my Christmas cards! Today I have made a card sketch to help jump start your creativity in getting some cards made! Here is the sketch:

Here is a card I created based on this sketch:

Supplies Used: Explore Your World Tags Double Sided Paper; Discover USA tags double sided paper, navy blue cardstock; Kawaii Not? planner stickers

The yellow Explore Your World paper is so pretty and good for more then just traveled themed projects as you can see! I have used this paper for so many things, it is my favorite paper from the Explore Your World line! I cut out the middle of my tag and used some cellophane from an old package to add to the middle of my tag just to give it some visual interest. Here is a close up:

I popped up all the stickers on pop dots to give more textrue to my card. Often when I do this with thinner planner stickers I add them first to a piece of cardstock then add the pop dots to pop them up. In the case of my “hello sunshine” sticker I added it to silver cardstock and when I cut it out I left a slight edge showing to accent the silver words even more. I added a very small star circle sticker to the top of my tag in lieu of twine or ribbon since I plan on mailing this card out to one of my friends this next week! These little planner stickers are great in place of brads on projects where you don’t want the bulk!

I hope you will play along with us in honor of World Card Making Day and create a fun card using this sketch! If you do make sure and visit us at Paper House Creates and post your card there so we can see your amazing work and be inspired! I will be posting cards throughout the month of October in honor of World Card Making Day so make sure an follow me on Instagram (lisantexas) to see my latest creation!!

Stargazer Wedding Card

Hello! Samantha here today with a Stargazer wedding card. While Stargazer might not be your first thought when you go to create a wedding card, I’ve found that it can make for a really stunning one. The rich colors and starry motifs can make the perfect background for an elegant wedding card.

Supplies: Stargazer Night Sky Foil Paper, Stargazer Ultra Violet Foil Paper, Eat, Drink, and be Married 3D Stickers, To Have & To Hold Cardstock Multi Pack, White Card Stock, Black Card Stock, Dimensional Adhesive

My cousin is getting married in October, so I needed to make a wedding card. I found out that their wedding color is purple, so I set out to create a purple wedding card. I love the deep shades of purple in Stargazer, so I thought that it just might work.

I chose a mix of both lighter colored sheets of Stargazer and darker ones, but I made sure to crop the paper to really focus on the purple swirls. I used both white and black card stock as a base for the card since Stargazer has both white and black and dark and light elements to it.

To make this card a wedding card (instead of just a really pretty Stargazer card) I added 3D stickers from Eat, Drink, and Be Married. I also used flat stickers from the To Have & To Hold Cardstock Multi Pack.

I love the silver foil accents on the stickers. They add an extra touch that’s just perfect for a special occasion like a wedding.

Have you used Stargazer for any different themed cards or layouts?
