Bubble Layout with Color Washed Paper

CarolynCircle2

Carolyn here today to show you the new Color Washed Paper Pad! The watercolor backgrounds are so beautiful and bright. I can see this becoming a go-to paper pad in my collection.

Supplies for Bubble Layout: Color Washed 12″ Paper Pad, Butterfly Project Pad, Marbelous 12″ Paper Pad.

beautifulbubbles3PH

I began with these bubble pictures and liked how the gold foil on the paper looks like bubbles. I found a cut file that looked “bubbly” and cut it from more gold color washed paper using my Silhouette Cameo. I backed the bubbles using cut apart cards from the paper pad.

beautifulbubbles4PH

I fussy cut the multicolored butterflies and the “wild and free” circle. The title, flags and arrows are all stickers that come with the paper pad. You can see a little bit of the purple Marbelous paper peeking out in this close-up.

beautifulbubbles2PH

I added a couple more butterflies from the Butterfly Project Pad to balance the page. I love how the Project Pad coordinated with the Paper Pad and the butterflies just pop right out. No need to use a cutting machine or fussy cut.

Thanks for looking at my layout today! Enjoy the last little bit of our summer bubble blowing weather.

A Traveler’s Notebook Using the Travel Craft Set

CarolynCircle2

It’s Carolyn here today to show you a traveler’s notebook I made using the Travel Craft Set. I always bring a boring old notepad on my trips so I thought it would be fun to dress one up. I really like how it turned out and now I need to go on vacation so I can use it!

travelnotebookPH11

Supplies for Traveler’s Notebook: Travel Craft Set.

travelnotebook5PH

I began with this notebook. First I removed the coils. Then, I traced the size of the notebook on the back of one of the sticky sheets in the craft set. I stuck the sheet to the cover and wrapped it around so it began and ended on the back of the cover.

travelnotebook3PH

I added the 3D embellishments that came in the kit and used the alphas for my title.

travelnotebook4PH

I wrapped a cord from my stash around the cover to finish it off and then replaced the coils.

travelnotebook2PH

There you have it! Easy-peasy! There is also a lot left over in the craft set so I will be using it to decorate the inside of my notebook during my travels. Thanks for checking out this post and happy travels!

Friendship Cards with My Sentiments Exactly Stamps

CarolynCircle2

Hello paper fans! Carolyn back today with two friendship cards showcasing the beautiful Be Happy Paper Pad and My Sentiments Exactly Stamps. They were so easy to put together and now I have some cards ready to make the day of some special friends.

Friendshipcards2PH

Supplies for Friendship Cards: Paper House Productions Be Happy Paper Pad, CS Y220 Friendship Cards Clear Stamps by My Sentiments Exactly.

FriendshipcardsgoodFor this card, I folded a piece of 8.5′ x 11′ white cardstock. I cut the flowers from black cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo. The ovals in the large flower are the negative cuts from the small flowers! I used two different ribbons from my stash and used the flower stickers that come with the paper pad. The sentiment is stamped using white ink. There were enough sentiments in the stamp set to personalize the inside of the card.

friendshipcardsgood2This card is the same as the other card but this time I used fussy cutting for the flowers. I love how fancy the stamp sentiment looks on this card! I could never have written something so pretty.

I hope you will take a moment to click on the supply lists above. My Sentiments Exactly has so many stamps to choose from you can’t go wrong. The stamps stuck really well to my clear block and were very easy to clean with water. But most importantly, the stamped images were clear every time.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to say hello to a special friend today!

Project Pad Calendar

CarolynCircle2

Hello! Carolyn back today and I am super excited to show you the calendar I made with the Punch Out Project Pads. My daughter has become quite interested in dance this year and is always making little calendars to keep track of her practice. When I saw this white board I knew she would love it and I would have fun decorating it!

calendar1PHP

Project Pad Calendar Supply List: Frames Project Pad, Hearts Project Pad, and Butterflies Project Pad.

calendar2PHP

I began by choosing the colors I wanted and then punching out a whole bunch of butterflies and hearts. I played with them until I figured out a layering pattern that I liked and glued a bunch together. I adhered them to magnetic strips so that my daughter can move them anywhere she would like on the board.

Calendar4bPHP

I went through the frame pad and punched out all the cards with words on them that I felt fit my theme of dance and practice. I punched out corresponding frames (which have the folds already scored) and glued everything together. I also put magnetic strips on the back of the frames.

calendar3PHP

These box frames I stuffed with tissue so they would be sturdier when pulled off the board. I had lots of fun layering hearts to make flowers and decorate the boxes.

calendar5PHP

The project pads make a craft like this so easy! They are packed with a variety of shapes and colors that all coordinate. This would be an easy craft with kids and my daughter is excited to make more accessories for her board with me.

Hello Baby Picture Frame Using Pen Blades

CarolynCircle2

Hello everyone! Carolyn here today with a simple and fun picture frame that can be given as a new baby gift or a project for a special picture. The new Craft Sets from Paper House pair perfectly with the penblades!

Baby frame PH1Supply List: Hello Baby Girl Craft Set,  Hello Baby Girl Paper Crafting Kit, Pen Blades.

Baby Frame PH3

I began with this old wood frame that is meant for crafting. I painted it a long time ago and never liked it. I decided to use the craft set and Pen Blades to bring it back to life. This image shows the decal paper that comes in the kit, the layered stickers, alphas and Pen Blades.

Baby Frame PH5I wrapped the craft paper around the frame while folding down the corners. I used the #11 Pen Blade to cut the window out of the frame. It was so sharp and so easy to control.

Baby Frame PH2

I pushed the sticky paper into the corners and used the Pen Blade to cut off the excess.

Baby Frame PH4

I finished it off with lots of embellishments. I made the accordion flower by scoring a  strip of paper in intervals and then folding them into a flower shape. I’m so happy to be enjoying this frame again and that you could join me today.

Have a wonderful day!

Little Things Family Flip Album

CarolynCircle2

Hello everyone! Have you picked up some flip albums? They are so fun to make I just had to put one together as a gift for a family member. The albums come with several spaces to place photos and journaling as well as clear stickers and gold photo corners.

These albums are perfect to display and fun to flip through. This is the image that is visible when someone flips up the cover of my album. We had our family pictures taken in the fall which made a consistent theme for the album.

flip4PH

Below the previous picture is this pocket with a slide out card. I decorated the pocket with stickers and pasted a sentiment on the slide out from the One Big Happy Family kit.

flip5PH

When the pocket is flipped up, this is visible underneath. I used another sentiment from the One Big Happy Family kit.

flip6PH

The third layer looks like this. I used heart stickers from the Panda 2″ Sticker Sheets.

flip7PH

This layer opens to show a spot for journaling.

flip8PH

The back of the third layer has enough room for two pictures. How cute are these kiddos?!

Thanks so much for taking a look here and feel free to stop by my personal blog here: Carolyn Johnson. Have a great day!

National Scrapbook Day – Hour Five – Giveaway

Hour Five: Happy National Scrapbook Day!  Today we are celebrating all things Scrapbooking related!  Each hour we will be sharing a new post with some inspiration combining Paper House products and our designer’s favorite techniques!

Of course we can’t have a celebration without a giveaway or two!  Stay tuned at the end of the post to find out what we’re giving away!  Now let’s hear from Carolyn!
———————————————————————————————————CarolynCircle2

I’m super excited to share this layout with you for National Scrapbooking Day! We are highlighting our favorite techniques today and mine is fussy cutting! But first, you’ve been following along with getting to know our other designers, now it’s my turn to share:

What’s your favorite type of paper crafting?
12 x 12 scrapbook layouts
Where do you go for inspiration? Instagram and Pinterest
Where do you do your crafting? I have my own desk in our family office where I can look out the window and create.
What are your favorite crafting tools? My paper trimmer and Silhouette Cameo.
What are your favorite Paper House products? All the puffy stickers! I need to show restraint on my layouts because I love them all.
What are your favorite colors to work with? Pink and more pink
How would you describe your crafting style? Eclectic, sometimes clean and simple, sometimes mixed media but always colorful.
Do you like it quiet while you work or do you have music or tv on? For years I enjoyed the quiet but I’ve been listening to music or watching tv lately. The tv is definitely distracting and takes me twice as long to finish a project!
What’s your go to snack/drink while you craft? I always drink soft drinks (so bad!).

There is something so relaxing about fussy cutting. I decided to use the Paradise Found Collection as a starting point. The colors are so beautiful I just had to cut the flowers out and cluster them.BeachBabyPH1Beach Baby Layout Supply List: Paradise Found Florida Paper Crafting KitThe Beach 3D StickerIsland Life 3D StickerOcean Breeze 12″ Double Sided Paper

beach-baby-ph2.jpgI began by building a background. I placed a layer of gesso and then placed some wet distress ink on a piece of plastic and rubbed it on top. I also splattered some paint and colored some texture paste and used a stencil to make waves. I used the same technique to make the path.

This is the Ocean Breeze paper that I cut apart. It is almost too pretty to cut apart but the kit has two pieces so that makes it easier knowing that I have another one to hoard. I used foam squares behind the picture and some of the flowers to add dimension. Then I added some journaling and stickers to finish it off.

Embrace Today Flip Album

photo-of-carolynIt’s Carolyn joining you today to show you a tropical themed flip album. These albums are so easy to make and come in a variety of themes. Check out all the blog posts from last week to see examples of all the different themes. I chose a tropical theme so I could display pictures from our recent trip to California.

Embrace Today Flip Album Supply List

The flip albums have a stand on the back so they can be easily displayed. I plan on placing mine on an end table so I made sure there was a nice picture, title, date and journaling so people would be more likely to stop and flip through it.

I used 3D stickers, puffy stickers and cardstock stickers for decorations. The photocorners and transparent stickers come with the flip album.

How gorgeoEmToday2PHus is the sunset off the Santa Monica Pier? As you can see, square Instagram photos work really well in this album. They hold 9 photos comfortably. Sometimes I used the photo corners, sometimes I made the photos flush with the borders.

EmToday3PH

If you flip the top photo up, there is this space for a picture or two underneath. My daughter loved using the map.

EmToday4PH

This yellow section is actually a pocket. There is a paper that slides in and out where I attached a picture on each side. I used a planner sticker to make my checklist.

EmToday6PH

I used some of the transparent stickers to decorate the pocket and cardstock stickers to decorate the sliding card.

EmToday7PH

I used a planner label for the journal background. I like how it makes the journaling stand-out on this part of the paper which is visible when the album is closed.

EmToday8PH

TheEmToday9PHre is even a nice space for journaling inside the album.

Here is the last page where I placed some transparent stickers and photo corners. I just love how quick and easy it was to make this and now I have a colorful and fun display for my home.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hello Baby Boy and Girl Cards

photo-of-carolyn

Carolyn back today with two baby cards. I’m so lucky to have a new boy and girl join the extended family last month. Of course I needed to make cards with the Hello Baby collections. The cards are 6″ x 6″ which I found easy to work with since I almost always make 12″ x 12″ layouts.

Scrapbook-001

Hello Baby Boy and Girl Cards Supply List

Kohlt Card 1

For the boy card, I cut out a rattle handle using my Silhouette Cameo. I made a circle in the grid paper and put a cut apart card behind it. I spelled the baby’s name with the cardstock stickers. Then I fused a plastic pouch of sequins and slid it behind the open circle. Some flags and  embroidery thread finished it off.

Kohlt Card 2

Here is the inside of the card. I like opening a card and seeing something beyond the writing so I cut several circles from the paper in the kit and added a sticker.

Liv Card 1

Here is the girl card. I used my Silhouette to cut the star out of the stripped paper and slid a plastic shaker of star sequins behind it. I wanted it to pop off the page more so I outlined it in black. I cut the words out of a cut apart card in the kit and used puffy and cardstock stickers to embellish.

Liv Card 2

I continued the sentiment from the front of the card on the inside. And I made use of that star I cut out! A few more stickers and it is done.

Thanks for checking out this post and have a great day!

Hello Baby Boy Flipbook Mini Album

photo-of-carolyn

Carolyn here today. If you ever need a gift for a newborn, look no further than the Paper House Flipbooks. These photo albums are so easy to create and so much fun to use. There are pages that fold out, pockets to fill and even a CD pouch. They are also decorated so you can embellish as much or as little as you like.

I am so lucky to have a new nephew. I wanted to make an album for him so I asked my sister-in-law for photos, and boy, she didn’t disappoint. She is a fabulous photographer. I began by selecting which pictures to place in each spot and then embellished the album one page at a time. I’ve selected a few pages to highlight but to look at the full album, be sure to check out the attached video.

flipbook-1

Hello Baby Boy Flipbook Supply List

I began by layering papers and stickers on the inside of the front cover. I didn’t let one inch of space go to waste!

flipbook-2

Here is one of my favorite pages. Who can resist a sweet little burrito and puffy stickers?

flipbook-3

I love the look of this fussy cut banner with the giraffe.

flipbook-4

I played around with the manufacturer’s strips in the paper kit to make flags and embellishments. The page on the right is a CD pocket.

flipbook-5

Here is one last spread with a quote and a kiss sticker.

There are a few more pages to check out in the attached video. The video gives a much better idea of how the Flipbook works and hopefully you will see just how fun it is!

Happy flipping!
