Fishing Scrapbook Layout with the Great Outdoors

CarolynCircle2It’s Carolyn here today with a fishy layout for you. Did you get to enjoy the great outdoors this summer? I got to spend lots of time at the lake so I have lots of memories to document. I’m so in love with the new Great Outdoors Collection. There is a camping set, a hunting set and a fishing set. I used the fishing set to document my daughter’s attempt to make a catch. She didn’t have any luck but it was a beautiful day and lots of fun. I’m going to show you how I put this layout together.

fish1PH.jpg

I began by choosing three photos of our fishing trip. Since two of them were similar, I decided I would separate the page into two sections. I love how the top picture fits the boat. I played around with paper options and decided on these three as my background.

fish2PH

I used a piece of white cardstock as my base. I trimmed my papers using the cardstock as a size guide.

fish3PH

I pondered matting my photos with the orange paper but decided it would be too much. So I trimmed the sides off the layout and added orange down the sides.

fish4PH

I added my photos and the cardstock frame sticker. The sentiment is a cut apart card trimmed to fit the frame. There were three cards that fit but I finally settled on this one because the green color balanced the layout.

fish5PH

I added some blue paper behind the frame to finish the background.

Now the fun part – embellishing! I used many of the 3D stickers that come in the kit and some Great Outdoors puffy stickers. I tried to draw the eye from right to left diagonally across the top half of the page then left to right across the bottom. I made sure to use the “one that got away” sticker since my daughter didn’t catch anything. And how cool is that fishing rod? I used some flake fish stickers on the end. The final touch was to add some journaling at the top along with the date.

There you have it! I just love the bright colors in this collection and the pretty patterns. I already have ideas for the rest of my kit. Thanks for following along the tutorial and have a great day.

Fall Themed Bookmarks

CarolynCircle2

Hello crafty friends! It’s Carolyn here today with some fall themed bookmarks. I made two as thank-you gifts for a teacher and another to celebrate fall. If you have bits and pieces of a collection, this is a great way to use them up and add a handmade touch to a gift. Not to mention who can’t use another bookmark?!?

For the fall bookmark I layered two papers from the Autumn Woods collection. I cut out the sentiment from another paper and decorated with cardstock and epoxy stickers. I used a hole punch and added some matching twine.

bookmarks2PH

For this teacher bookmark, I used the new Great Outdoors papers for the background. Then I mixed a bunch of school themed stickers. I love how the planner stickers, puffy stickers and mixed stickers all look together.

bookmarks3PH

For the final bookmark, I used a paper from the Color Washed Paper Pad. Then I cut the packaging paper off the mixed stickers for the lined paper. I topped it off with a mixture of stickers.

That’s it for me! I hope you have a moment to check out all the fun stickers and papers in the shop and don’t forget to put those leftover supplies to use!

Fall Themed Traveler’s Notebook using Autumn Woods

CarolynCircle2Carolyn back again to show you the Autumn Woods Life Organized Collection. I used a traveler’s notebook to document a trip through a neighbour’s property. He is 95 years old and has the coolest yard in town. We visited during the fall so this collection is perfect for this adventure. I completed three different spreads in the notebook.

Autumn Woods Traveler's Notebook

Supplies for Autumn Woods Traveler’s Notebook: Autumn Woods Epoxy Clips, Autumn Woods Puffy Stickers, Autumn Woods Epoxy Stickers, Autumn Woods Rice Paper Border Stickers, Autumn Woods Flake Stickers, Autumn Woods Stick On Pockets, Autumn Woods Washi Tape, Autumn Woods Puffy Clips, Family Planner Stickers, Lake Life Paper Crafting Kit, Autumn Woods Cardstock Stickers, Autumn Woods 12″ Paper, Autumn Air 12″ Paper, Paradise Found 12″ Cardstock Stickers

Autumn Woods Traveler's Notebook

I used a little bit of everything in my notebook and mixed in alphas and papers from other collections too. The first spread has some fussy cutting of the leaves and the pretty stick-on pocket. For the second spread, I used Lake Life papers and a cut file to create the background. I wanted something that looked like a maze so this tree cookie was perfect! Again, I think I almost used one of everything in this collection on this spread. The Life Organized products are great for a traveler’s notebook since planners are about the same size.

Autumn Woods Traveler's Notebook

This is my favourite page with the washi tape acting as a border and the guffelwarf pictures! I hope you take a moment to read the journaling and check out how cute the different products look all clustered together.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Great Outdoors and Lake Life Scrapbook Layout

CarolynCircle2Carolyn back again to show you how I used the Life Organized Planner Products on a scrapbooking layout. Our family visited Wisconsin Dells last year and these pictures show a stop along the boat tour. The Great Outdoors products were perfect to highlight the ruggedness of my pictures and the Lake Life collection provided papers that worked well as my base.

I used washi tape to separate the top and bottom half of the layout. The trees in this photo are flake stickers and epoxy stickers.

witchesgulchPHP2

Here is a close-up of the puffy clip tree. I attached it to a stick-on pocket. The leaves are flake stickers and the remaining stickers are a mix of epoxy and puffy. I cut the title from paper in the Lake Life collection using my Silhouette Cameo.

witchesgulchPHP3

Here is one last close-up of the other stick-on pocket and puffy clip. The multicolored arrows are rice paper stickers that helped me to cover a sentiment that didn’t go with my theme.

Thanks for stopping by! I just love how well these two collections work together and hope you will give it a try!

Bubble Layout with Color Washed Paper

CarolynCircle2

Carolyn here today to show you the new Color Washed Paper Pad! The watercolor backgrounds are so beautiful and bright. I can see this becoming a go-to paper pad in my collection.

beautifulbubblesPH

Supplies for Bubble Layout: Color Washed 12″ Paper Pad, Butterfly Project Pad, Marbelous 12″ Paper Pad.

beautifulbubbles3PH

I began with these bubble pictures and liked how the gold foil on the paper looks like bubbles. I found a cut file that looked “bubbly” and cut it from more gold color washed paper using my Silhouette Cameo. I backed the bubbles using cut apart cards from the paper pad.

beautifulbubbles4PH

I fussy cut the multicolored butterflies and the “wild and free” circle. The title, flags and arrows are all stickers that come with the paper pad. You can see a little bit of the purple Marbelous paper peeking out in this close-up.

beautifulbubbles2PH

I added a couple more butterflies from the Butterfly Project Pad to balance the page. I love how the Project Pad coordinated with the Paper Pad and the butterflies just pop right out. No need to use a cutting machine or fussy cut.

Thanks for looking at my layout today! Enjoy the last little bit of our summer bubble blowing weather.

A Traveler’s Notebook Using the Travel Craft Set

CarolynCircle2

It’s Carolyn here today to show you a traveler’s notebook I made using the Travel Craft Set. I always bring a boring old notepad on my trips so I thought it would be fun to dress one up. I really like how it turned out and now I need to go on vacation so I can use it!

travelnotebookPH11

Supplies for Traveler’s Notebook: Travel Craft Set.

travelnotebook5PH

I began with this notebook. First I removed the coils. Then, I traced the size of the notebook on the back of one of the sticky sheets in the craft set. I stuck the sheet to the cover and wrapped it around so it began and ended on the back of the cover.

travelnotebook3PH

I added the 3D embellishments that came in the kit and used the alphas for my title.

travelnotebook4PH

I wrapped a cord from my stash around the cover to finish it off and then replaced the coils.

travelnotebook2PH

There you have it! Easy-peasy! There is also a lot left over in the craft set so I will be using it to decorate the inside of my notebook during my travels. Thanks for checking out this post and happy travels!

Friendship Cards with My Sentiments Exactly Stamps

CarolynCircle2

Hello paper fans! Carolyn back today with two friendship cards showcasing the beautiful Be Happy Paper Pad and My Sentiments Exactly Stamps. They were so easy to put together and now I have some cards ready to make the day of some special friends.

Friendshipcards2PH

Supplies for Friendship Cards: Paper House Productions Be Happy Paper Pad, CS Y220 Friendship Cards Clear Stamps by My Sentiments Exactly.

FriendshipcardsgoodFor this card, I folded a piece of 8.5′ x 11′ white cardstock. I cut the flowers from black cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo. The ovals in the large flower are the negative cuts from the small flowers! I used two different ribbons from my stash and used the flower stickers that come with the paper pad. The sentiment is stamped using white ink. There were enough sentiments in the stamp set to personalize the inside of the card.

friendshipcardsgood2This card is the same as the other card but this time I used fussy cutting for the flowers. I love how fancy the stamp sentiment looks on this card! I could never have written something so pretty.

I hope you will take a moment to click on the supply lists above. My Sentiments Exactly has so many stamps to choose from you can’t go wrong. The stamps stuck really well to my clear block and were very easy to clean with water. But most importantly, the stamped images were clear every time.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to say hello to a special friend today!

Project Pad Calendar

CarolynCircle2

Hello! Carolyn back today and I am super excited to show you the calendar I made with the Punch Out Project Pads. My daughter has become quite interested in dance this year and is always making little calendars to keep track of her practice. When I saw this white board I knew she would love it and I would have fun decorating it!

calendar1PHP

Project Pad Calendar Supply List: Frames Project Pad, Hearts Project Pad, and Butterflies Project Pad.

calendar2PHP

I began by choosing the colors I wanted and then punching out a whole bunch of butterflies and hearts. I played with them until I figured out a layering pattern that I liked and glued a bunch together. I adhered them to magnetic strips so that my daughter can move them anywhere she would like on the board.

Calendar4bPHP

I went through the frame pad and punched out all the cards with words on them that I felt fit my theme of dance and practice. I punched out corresponding frames (which have the folds already scored) and glued everything together. I also put magnetic strips on the back of the frames.

calendar3PHP

These box frames I stuffed with tissue so they would be sturdier when pulled off the board. I had lots of fun layering hearts to make flowers and decorate the boxes.

calendar5PHP

The project pads make a craft like this so easy! They are packed with a variety of shapes and colors that all coordinate. This would be an easy craft with kids and my daughter is excited to make more accessories for her board with me.

Hello Baby Picture Frame Using Pen Blades

CarolynCircle2

Hello everyone! Carolyn here today with a simple and fun picture frame that can be given as a new baby gift or a project for a special picture. The new Craft Sets from Paper House pair perfectly with the penblades!

Baby frame PH1Supply List: Hello Baby Girl Craft Set,  Hello Baby Girl Paper Crafting Kit, Pen Blades.

Baby Frame PH3

I began with this old wood frame that is meant for crafting. I painted it a long time ago and never liked it. I decided to use the craft set and Pen Blades to bring it back to life. This image shows the decal paper that comes in the kit, the layered stickers, alphas and Pen Blades.

Baby Frame PH5I wrapped the craft paper around the frame while folding down the corners. I used the #11 Pen Blade to cut the window out of the frame. It was so sharp and so easy to control.

Baby Frame PH2

I pushed the sticky paper into the corners and used the Pen Blade to cut off the excess.

Baby Frame PH4

I finished it off with lots of embellishments. I made the accordion flower by scoring a  strip of paper in intervals and then folding them into a flower shape. I’m so happy to be enjoying this frame again and that you could join me today.

Have a wonderful day!

Little Things Family Flip Album

CarolynCircle2

Hello everyone! Have you picked up some flip albums? They are so fun to make I just had to put one together as a gift for a family member. The albums come with several spaces to place photos and journaling as well as clear stickers and gold photo corners.

These albums are perfect to display and fun to flip through. This is the image that is visible when someone flips up the cover of my album. We had our family pictures taken in the fall which made a consistent theme for the album.

flip4PH

Below the previous picture is this pocket with a slide out card. I decorated the pocket with stickers and pasted a sentiment on the slide out from the One Big Happy Family kit.

flip5PH

When the pocket is flipped up, this is visible underneath. I used another sentiment from the One Big Happy Family kit.

flip6PH

The third layer looks like this. I used heart stickers from the Panda 2″ Sticker Sheets.

flip7PH

This layer opens to show a spot for journaling.

flip8PH

The back of the third layer has enough room for two pictures. How cute are these kiddos?!

Thanks so much for taking a look here and feel free to stop by my personal blog here: Carolyn Johnson. Have a great day!
