Hello friends! Katty here to share a fun scrapbook layout with you all. I am working with the awesome PenBlades and the Discover USA Collection. I used the Penblade to cut out triangles from a red checkered patterned paper and used that as a frame behind my photos. I added white cardstock behind the triangles and traced them with a navy blue pen.

I used some of the cutaparts behind my photo.I also used some above and below the photo. I used a few stickers from the One Big Happy Family Sticker sheet as well. I finished it off with some white ink splatters.

Here We Go Layout- Let Freedom Ring DC

KattyCircle2Hello friends, Katty here. Today I am sharing a layout using the Let Freedom Ring Washington DC Paper Crafting Kit. I am scrapping a few photos from a trip I took with a good friend of mine to Washington DC in 2011. This was our first time visiting DC. The pictures I am using were taken on the airplane as we were arriving. We had such a great weekend exploring the city and all of the museums.

FullSizeRender 14 copyHere We Go Layout Supply List: Let Freedom Ring Washington DC Paper Crafting Kit

I chose a large globe cut file from the Silhouette Studio and cut it out using one of the burgundy patterned papers from the kit. I backed the cut file with a chevron navy patterned paper. I placed it to the left of the page and used dimensional foam to raise it.

FullSizeRender 15 copy

For my background, I used a mustard yellow patterned paper with a star pattern on it. I layered my three photos to the right of the globe, I printed them in black and white.

I added a few embellishments from the sticker sheet around my photos. I also scattered some of the stars around the page.

FullSizeRender 18 copy

For my tittle, I used letter stickers from the sticker sheet as well. As a finishing touch I added some faux stitching around the cut file with a white jelly roll pen.

This was a fun page to create. This collection is perfect for capturing those DC memories.

Hello friends, Katty here. Happy National Scrapbook Day! The Paper House team is super excited to share some of our favorite techniques with you all to celebrate this special day.  We thought it would be fun to share a little about ourselves with you today, which designer will you have the most in common with?  Here’s a little about me!

What’s your favorite type of paper crafting? Definitely Scrapbooking
Where do you go for inspiration? I love watching other Youtubers, Pinterest or Instagram
Where do you do your crafting? Luckily I have my own craft room at home
What are your favorite crafting tools? Love my punches and my Silhouette Cameo
What are your favorite Paper House products? All of them, the paper crafting kits are awesome, I am also loving all of the fun planner stickers
What are your favorite colors to work with? I love mint, teal , coral and pink
How would you describe your crafting style? Eclectic, I love to try a little bit of everything
Do you like it quiet while you work or do you have music or tv on? I usually have music videos on YouTube, other scrapbooking YoTtube videos on or Netflix catching up on whatever I’m watching at the moment.
What’s your go to snack/drink while you craft? Coffee or Juice Boxes and anything sweet I can find. LOL

For today’s layout I decided to use one of my favorite techniques: mixed media. I love how much interest mixed media can add to a layout.

I decided to scrap a selfie I took on a Sunday afternoon a few months ago. We had stopped at  local restaurant and I got myself an ice cold coconut, I just love coconut water. Using the coconut as inspiration I decided to go with a tropical theme. I pulled out the Paradise Found Beach and Cruise Papercrafting Kits and got to work.

May Planner Spread using Everyday Moments Planner

KattyCircle2Hello friends, Katty here to share another monthly planner spread. I decided to work on my May monthly spread. I use this planner to keep track of all of my Crafty Commitments so I thought I’d get a head start decorating it. I am working in my Everyday Moments Planner. I recently received a ton of awesome planner stickers from Paperhouse and I was dying to use them. I have a video sharing all of the awesome Planner Stickers and Paperhouse goodies I received. If you’d like to watch Click Here. I decided to use one sticker set, the Live Bold Planner Stickers. This set of stickers coordinates with the Live Bold Planner but can be used in any of the planners.

FullSizeRender 20 copy

May Planner Decorating Supply List:

I began by adding a little bit of color to my spread. I picked out some gelatos in coordinating colors and painted in some of the days. I used a tiny bit of water and a small flat brush. Since I only used a tiny amount of water the color did not seep through nor did my pages warp too badly. I also like that the color is translucent, so you can still see the number for the days that I had stamped using some navy ink. This look can be achieved by using any type of watercolors. The key is to use minimal water. If you don’t own watercolors and want to add pops of color, you can also cut down patterned paper to fit the squares.

000FullSizeRender

Once dry, I used pens in coordinating colors and added faux stitching around the boxes and created a second faux stitch square inside of the boxes. I also watered down three of the gelatos and added fun splatters throughout the spread.

0000FullSizeRender

Then came the fun part. I used the Love Bold stickers all around the page. I added some beautiful florals on either side of the month and added two additional floral clusters on the bottom of the left side and the top of the right side along with some arrows and fun sentiments.

0000FullSizeRender

I added some banners on the right side edge for some additional interest. Then I took some more of the small flowers and little starts and scattered them around. I scattered them in a way that it looks like the flowers are coming out of the bottom right hand side and are exploding up and onto the page on the left.

I love how this turned out. I can’t wait to start filling in all of my crafty commitments.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. XOXO -Katty

Click Flip Album & Video Tutorial

my-bio-picHello Paper House friends! Katty here, back to share a fun project with you all. Today, I am working with the Click Flip Album. This album is so much fun to work with. There are several different styles of the Flip Album available.  These albums have an easel stand so they can be easily displayed. They are perfect for displaying fun memories or to be given as gifts. I love the Click version that I am working with today. It has a jewel tone color scheme which I think is so fun.

FullSizeRender 17 copy

Click Album Supply List:

These Flip Albums bring a clear sticker sheet as well as some gold foil photo corners. They make the perfect embellishments. I decided to use photos from a day trip my boyfriend and I took to the Grand Canyon. We were visiting Las Vegas and decided to take an airplane tour of the Canyon. It was absolutely breathtaking. I printed some of my favorite photos from that day and also pulled out the Southwest Adventure Paper Crafting Kit.

FullSizeRender 12

I kept my cover very simple by mixing a few elements from the Click Sticker sheet and some words that I fussy cut from the Southwest Collection. FullSizeRender 5

This Album has space for a lot of photos. I love how interactive it is. It is just fun to flip through and discover all of the flaps.

I continued throughout the album combining the sticker sheet that came with the album and the Southwest Collection. I even incorporated the Feathers Acetate sheet. I also added in some of the Succulent and Dreamcatcher 2″ Stickers.FullSizeRender 11Although the color schemes from the Click album and the Southwest collection are different I think they came together very nicely. They were perfect for my Grand Canyon theme. FullSizeRender 14

This album was a lot of fun to create. I hope you’ll check out the Flip Albums and try them out.

There is a video tutorial on my channel if you’d like to see my process.

April Planner Decorating

my-bio-picHello friends, Katty here to share my April monthly spread in my Everyday Moments Planner. I tend to work better with the monthly view. I like to see my month planned out in front of me. I am using this planner to organize my crafty commitments. This is why it is blank. As my commitments are scheduled I will fill them in. I love my Everyday Moments Planner. I am in love with colors and the divider images. For April I decided to add a floral spring theme.

FullSizeRender 7 copy

April Planner Decorating Supply List:

I looked through my beautiful Paperhouse collections and decided to add some elements from the One Big Happy Family Papercrafting Kit. There is a beautiful floral patterned paper which was perfect to add to my spread.

IMG_1606

I began with one of the floral patterned papers from the kit. I fussy cut the white flowers and some of the leaves. I decided to add three clusters of flowers on my spread. I wanted to bring in some of the colors from the beautiful banner at the top of the page so I pulled out my gelatos and used my finger to smudge some color behind the areas where my flowers will go. I used pinks and purples. I just wanted the color to peek out from behind the floral clusters. I love how that turned out. I also added in some of the adorable feather 2″ stickers coming out from behind the floral clusters. The feathers added additional color and a whimsical look.

FullSizeRender 15

The planner itself brings three sticker sheets. I used the month sticker up top. I also used a gold foil sticker at the bottom of the right hand side along with two hearts.

FullSizeRender 8

I cut a few squares in the patterned papers from the One Big happy Family collection and added them to random days of the month. I also added the 2″ Floral Heart stickers over a few of the patterned papers. I love how it turned out. Once I add in all of my commitments it will look super busy but for now I am enjoying the simple beauty of it.

I Love You Baby Layout & Video Tutorial

my-bio-pic

Hello friends! Katty here to share another 12×12 layout with you all. Today, I am working with the adorable Hello Baby Papercrafting Kit, the Boy version. There is also an adorable Girl version of this Kit. This collection is perfect for documenting little ones. I am scrapping a photo of my youngest son Ryan, this was taken at the hospital right after he was born. He is crying his little eyes out and he just looks so cute. I decided to print the photo in black and white.

IMG_5905

I Love You Baby Layout Supply List:

I began by cutting down one of the 12×12 patterned papers, the one with the colorful stripes, into rectangles, the same size as my photo. I created a grid down the center of the page. I used another patterned paper with colorful polka dots on it as my background. I cut out some images from the cut apart sheets and used them as a mat behind my photo.

FullSizeRender-109

I used the sticker sheet quite a bit. I used the 12×12 borders and cut them down to fit over three of my grid pieces. I also added some of the phrase stickers. I fussy cut the “Baby” banner  from one of the patterned papers and that became part of my tittle.

FullSizeRender-110

I scattered around the sticker stars as well as some of the puffy stickers. I finished off the layout by cutting two strips of the orange patterned paper with the yellow circles on it and added a strip to each side of the layout.

FullSizeRender-111

I also punched out some of those circles and clustered them on the left hand side of my photo as well as added them to the ends of my banner tittle.

There is a video tutorial on my channel if you’d like to watch.

I love how this turned out. Thanks so much for stopping by today! XOXO -Katty

Paradise Found Layout & Video Tutorial

my-bio-picHello friends! Katty here. I am back today working with the beautiful Paradise Found Cruise Paper Crafting Kit. I love that there are several versions of the Paradise found Collection. I chose to work with the Cruise Version. I love the fun, tropical feel of this collection. Just looking through the papers and embellishments makes me wish I were sitting on a beach,  with a fruity drink in my hand, soaking up the sun.Nevertheless, I will settle for using this beautiful kit to document previous tropical memories.

Today I am scrapbooking a photo on my two boys and myself relaxing on a hammock on the Disney Cruise Private Island, Castaway Cay. This was our very first cruise and we had a fantastic time.

a-fullsizerenderParadise Found Layout Supply List:

I immediately knew I wanted to incorporate the beautiful blues and pinks from this collection. I also knew I wanted to use the beautiful gold foil acetate sheet that coordinates with this collection. I decided  to cut out some of the sea stars in several different sizes from the acetate sheet. I also traced the stars on white cardstock and used my Shimmerz Paints to color them in coordinating colors. I used these as flowers. I scattered those around the page as well.a-fullsizerender

For my background, I chose to use one of the sheets of patterned paper which reminded me of sand and has a faint white script on it.

a-fullsizerender

I created several layers behind my photo using the cut apart sheets. I even used one of the larger stickers in my layers. I love this mix of colors. One of the cards had a large oval in the center. I cut out the oval center and used that card over my photo.

11fullsizerender

I decided to place my photo on the top left and I created a cluster on the bottom right. I used one of the cut apart cards which has a sentiment that I love.

111fullsizerender

I added some of the adorable puffy stickers from the collection. I also used the 3D stickers from the Island Life and The Beach sticker sets. I love the texture and dimention that these stickers add to the layout.

One Big Happy Family Layout & Video Tutorial

Hello friends! Katty here. I hope you are all having a great week.  I am beyond excited to be sharing my first Paper House project with you all. Today I am sharing a 12×12 Layout I created using the “One Big Happy Family Collection.” What I love most about this collection is how diverse it is. You can create very masculine layouts or very feminine layouts, as I’ve created today. It is the perfect collection for documenting special family moments. I am scrapbooking a photo of me and my adorable niece.  My layout was inspired by a beautiful floral card included in the Grandparents Tag Cut apart sheet .

ph-6

One Big Happy Family Layout Supply List:

Two of my favorite things to incorporate into my layouts are cut files and mixed media. I used both on this layout. I started off with a white piece of cardstock. I cut a floral wreath cut file which I colored in a light mint green color to match the beautiful feather patterned paper that I used as a partial frame behind my layout. The cut file also resembled the flowers in the card which inspired my layout.

ph-1

I decided to use half of the cut file and use some of my Shimmerz Paints watercolors to complete the wreath. I used shades of orange, pink and coral to match the collection. I also added some splatters.

ph-3

One of the cut aparts had the word Love repeated three times in a faux cross stitch. I decided to hand stitch over it in coordinating colors using embroidery floss. I love the texture that this added to my layout.

ph-2

I layered a few of the patterned papers and cut aparts behind my photo. I used one of the cut aparts which had some florals along the bottom and carefully fussy cut around the flowers to create a frame for my photo  to sit in.

ph-4

I also created a cluster at the bottom right hand side of my layout. I added a few images I fussy cut from the patterned papers as well as some of the stickers from the collection kit.

ph-5

I have a video tutorial showing how I created this layout if you’d like to watch.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  XOXO -Katty
