Stargazer Castle Layout

Hello! Samantha here today with a Stargazer castle layout. It’s no secret that one of my favorite things about Paper House is the wide variety of stickers. I love that I can combine a set of stickers (today I’ll be using 3D stickers) with any paper collection to create themed layout that matches my photos.

Supplies: Stargazer Night Sky Foil Paper, Stargazer Galaxy Foil Paper, Stargazer Shine Bright Foil Paper, Stargazer Dream Big Cardstock Stickers, Magical Memories 3D Stickers

I’ve been to Disney a few times in the past 5 years, and I’ve gotten around to scrapping very few of the photos, so when I saw the Magical Memories 3D stickers I knew they’d be a great way to get me started scrapping some of those photos.

These photos on this layout were also taken during the Christmas season, so the castle was decked out in Christmas lights and looked like an ice castle. I felt like the 3D castle sticker, with its pretty white glitter, coordinated perfectly with the icy feel of the castle in my photos.

I used the brighter blue of Stargazer Shine Bright to help lighten up my layout. Since my photos were taken at night, they quite dark as is much of the other Stargazer paper I chose to use. Framing the entire layout with a border of Galaxy paper also helps to brighten up the layout.

In addition to the 3D stickers I used some flat card stock stickers to add some additional texture and dimension to the layout.

Paper House stickers can turn any collection into a themed collection to fit your needs!

2020 Journey Book check list

Hello and Happy New Year!! Are you starting off 2020 with a bunch of resolutions and a huge “to do” list??? I know I am!! A check list is a must for me this year!! Using a decorated “to do” list is important and will ensure that you keep motivated in checking things off your list!! I decided to decorate the first page of my Blue Marble Journey Book insert to make a pretty intro page to get me motivated to keep a running check list of all the things I need to do in 2020:

Supplies Used: Blue Marble Journey Book Insert set; Productivity Sticker book; Beneath the Stars Double Sided Paper; Better When Camping Double sided paper; Baby Boy Banner Double Sided Paper; Discover USA Paper crafting kit

I used my favorite planner sticker book the Productivity Sticker Book for the gorgeous stickers you see, I just can’t get enough of them!! You can see they aren’t just for planners!! I layered them on the camping & outdoors papers for a nice rustic feel. I love using themed papers for things they weren’t originally intended for!! I placed the year on the bracket sticker from the Discover USA paper crafting kit and layered a clear floral sticker from the Productivity Sticker book on the bracket as well. To make the flower pop off the bracket I first mounted it on white card stock before I adhered it to the bracket. Here is a close up:

You can see I also used a 3/4 inch circle punch to punch a few circles to layer above the title. I think this makes it more pleasing to the eye. I also added a small heart sticker from the Productivity sticker book to give this cluster balance.

For the lower right embellishment cluster I used a lot of layering starting with a die cut circle from the Baby Boy Banner double sided paper. I then layered a square sticker from the Productivity Sticker book on top and then added this cute boot sticker on top of the square. The small heart and word strip are also from the Productivity Sticker book and I layered them to the left of the larger sticker grouping to add some balance.

Here is the inside of my “To Do” list journey book. I added a mirco flower sticker near the pre-printed title to jazz it up and I also added some matching washi tape at the bottom of the pages.

Supplies Used: Flower Micro stickers; llama washi tape set

I decided that checks are just a tad boring so to jazz it up a bit so I used the Flower Micro stickers to dot my check boxes. This indicates a finished project on my “to do ” list! Micro stickers are so great for so many of your projects!!

I hope this helps inspire you to make a list of things to get done in the upcoming new year!! To see more of my fun Paper House projects you can follow me on IG as lisantexas or visit my blog: My Creative Endeavors. Happy creating!!

King’s Cross Layout

Hello! Samantha here with you. One of the most iconic places in the Harry Potter stories is King’s Cross and Platform 9 3/4. Today I’m using Paper House’s Harry Potter collection to scrap a few photos from King’s Cross in Orlando.

Supplies: Harry Potter Hogwarts at Night Foil Paper, Harry Potter Hufflepuff Tags Foil Paper, Harry Potter Gryffindor Tags Foil Paper, Harry Potter Planner Stickers, Harry Potter Icons Washi Tape

I think my absolute favorite thing about this collection (besides that it’s Harry Potter) is all of the gold foil. You will find it everywhere in the collection; from the papers to the washi to the stickers. The pops of gold help tie everything together and make the layout look cohesive.

Since I had one photo that was horizontal and one that was vertical, I decided to set my layout up in a bit of a grid shape. I primarily chose embellishments that were rectangles.

When I got my photos and embellishments laid out, it felt like something was still missing. I grabbed some washi tape and added strips to the top, middle and bottom of the layout. This really grounded the elements of the layout and gave it a finished feel. When in doubt, washi tape is almost always the right answer!

Quite a few years ago, my friend and I took a quick trip to Orlando to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (yes, I am that much of a geek). We had so much fun, and I have so many photos just sitting on my computer. I am so thrilled to be using Paper House’s Harry Potter collection to slowly work my way through those photos. It was such a fun trip and it deserves to be scrapped!

December Album

Hello! Samantha here with you. Today I’d like to share a little bit about how I memory keep (aka scrapbook) for the busy month of December and show you a few of my pages in progress.

Supplies: Christmas Joy Craft Set, Christmas Joy Puffy Sticker, Peace Love Home Double Sided Paper, Home for Christmas Tags Double Sided Paper

I put everything that happens into December into a mini pocket page style album. If you’re a flat scrapbooker, journey or travelers notebooks work well, but if you’re like me and like to use lots of 3D stickers and lumpy bumpy embellishments, a thicker binder style book works better.

I always start by creating my cover. This year I’m feeling a bit sentimental, and the glittery house on the Home for Christmas Tags Double Sided Paper had me feeling all warm and fuzzy, so I built my cover around that .

Everything that happens in December, all the pictures I take, go into the December album for that year. Sometimes the photos are festive and Christmas themed and sometimes they are just regular life things.

Because December is so busy and filled with fun events and memories, this style of printing photos, adding a journaling tag, and popping on a few fun stickers works really well for me. It’s fast, utilizes a lot of the fun Christmas stickers and embellishments that Paper House has to offer, and helps me get my memories down on paper while they’re still fresh in my mind.

All of these mini December albums get put on a shelf in the living room when we put out our Christmas decor. It’s so fun to look through them throughout the month and see all of our holiday memories and traditions.

Christmas Decor

Hello! Samantha here with you today. I love creating Christmas decor for my house every year. Sometimes I create something intricate and fussy and sometimes I keep it clean and simple, but it’s always a lot of to add something hand made to my Christmas decor.

Supplies: Christmas Joy Craft Set OR Christmas Magic Cardstock Multipack, Peace Joy and Love Double Sided Paper, and Christmas Joy Double Sided Foil Scrapbook Paper

As you can see, this time I decided to go with a clean and simple decor piece with a simple phrase.

One of my favorite things to do is to take what is currently popular or trendy and incorporate it into my own style. Farmhouse style decor is everywhere right now. For this sign I was inspired by the wood framed white word signs with black lettering that you see in almost every store (and lots of homes). I copied the words in two coordinating fonts on an almost solid colored background.

I decided to use the phrase “A thrill of hope”, but phrases like “Deck the Halls”, “Mistletoe & Co.”, “Joy to the World” or “Silent Night” would work really well, too.

I used 2 different patterned papers that are in contrasting colors, but have the same all over snowflake pattern. The cream letters on the red background have a similar feel to the black letters on a white background. The subtle snowflake pattern on the paper adds a little bit of dimension and interest to the sign (and mixing patterned papers is a nod to my style).

I finished up by dotting my “i” with a snowflake sticker and adding a few gold star stickers.

My finished sign is about 10″ x 12″.

Basketball Layout

Hello! Samantha here with you today. Football season ended, and less than a week later basketball season started. I love every minute of watching my kids grow, challenge themselves, and learn through sports. I also love trying to capture some of those moments in this basketball layout.

Supplies: All Star Sports Paper Pad, Basketball Essentials Sticker, Basketball Washi Tape Set

The All Star Sports paper pad has a mix of sports papers in it and one card stock sticker sheet. I think my favorite paper in the whole pad might just be the paper with all the hexagons. Not only is it a really fun piece of patterned paper, but the outline of all the hexagons is a metallic silver that just add so much to the layout. There’s the added bonus that it coordinates with every other piece of paper in the collection!

In my world, no layout is complete without some of Paper House’s fabulous 3D Stickers. I used one of the larger ones for my basketball title and to add a bit of dimension to the center of my photos with the 3D basketball.

I needed something to ground the layout at the bottom, so I added some basketball washi tape. The basketball washi tape comes as a set. You get both the die cut basketballs and the black and metallic silver striped washi tape. You might be noticing that I love the metallic silver touches that run all through this collection and the coordinating embellishments.

I completed the layout with some card stock stickers (7th Grade) clustered up with a few more 3D stickers.

No matter what sports season you’re in right now Paper House has just the sticker for that!
