Scrapping Night Photos With Stargazer

Hello! Samantha here with you. When we travel, we love checking out the different cities at night, so I have quite a few night photos. Today I wanted to show how easy it is to scrap night photos with Stargazer.

Scrapping Night Photos with Stargazer-002

This is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to use the Stargazer papers, and they are just so beautiful. There are gold foil accents on all of the papers that make this collection extra special. The deep, moody colors and night sky theme of Stargazer lend themselves perfectly to scrapping night photos.

My oldest and I took a nighttime selfie together on a pedestrian bridge when we were on a recent weekend trip to Omaha. The bridge lights up at night and adds just the right amount of back light for a photo. This bridge is always one of our favorite stops, and is that much better at night!

Because night photos tend to be a bit dark, I built my layout around a piece of Stargazer paper that had a lot of white to it to keep the whole layout from looking really dark. I framed my picture with a Stargazer paper that had more purple/indigo tones than blue tones since our night photo happened to have blue back light. Coordinating without matching helps the photo pop on the layout instead of fading into the background.

I finished up my layout by adding a few dimensional stickers, Stargazer cardstock stickers, and Stargazer journaling tags.

Personalizing a Travel Layout

Hello! Samantha here with you. We recently returned from a trip to Germany, so today I want to share a little about personalizing a travel layout.

Travel Layout

Supplies: Explore Your World Passport Stamps, Explore Your World Luggage Tags, Explore Your World Map, Explore Your World Tags, Around the World Puffy Stickers, Germany 3-D Stickers, Southwest Adventure Paper Crafting Kit (white alphas), Color Washed Cardstock Multi Pack

Travel Layout-002

Explore Your World is everything I want in a travel collection: fun patterns, all-inclusive travel themes, beautiful words, and a gorgeous color palette. I prefer generic themed travel collections so that I can use it over a lot of photos on multiple layuots from a trip of any kind. I then customize my layout with more location specific stickers and embellishments.

Travel Layout-001

Since Paper House has so many great stickers (seriously my favorite thing about Paper House is the amazing variety of stickers), you’ll never have a hard time finding just what you need to customize your layout. I used alphabet stickers to add the name of the town. Because the town has two names, I used two different styles of stickers to add to the fun. Next, I used a Germany 3-D sticker to tie it all together. The mix of card stock stickers and 3D stickers adds texture to the layout as well. Our trip was overseas travel, so I stuck with Geo tag, map, and airplane themes for the rest of my embellishments. If you’re scrapping a beach trip you could use embellishments from collections like Sundrenched for a different kind of personalization.

Stargazer Layout ~ Footprints on the Moon

Hello crafty friends!! Last week the creative team members were challenged to use a quote on a project. That immediately brought to mind a memory of my son when he was younger and a quote I would share with him, so I decided to create a layout documenting this quote. Since my son was a toddler he has loved space and astronauts and his dream has been to either become an astronaut or work for NASA. I knew exactly what picture I was going to use, one that embodied my quote perfectly but more importantly I knew the Stargazer line was PERFECT for the layout I had in mind.

Supplies Used: Stargazer Foil Paper; Ultra Violet Paper; Dream Big Cardstock Stickers; Stargazer Faux enamel sticker

The minute I saw the Stargazer foil paper it was love at first sight! I knew this paper was destined for a special layout and a special photo, so I hoarded it as most paper crafters do with a favorite paper. It wasn’t until I was challenged to create a project with a quote that the idea came to me to use this photo and my “special” paper from the Stargazer collection. The foil accents on this beautiful paper are so much lovelier in person!! The faux enamel stickers were the perfect accents to give that gold shimmer more impact. I also added some gold sequins to provide even more glimmer and shine! The cardstock sticker “follow your dreams” was popped up and added to the left of my photo as an embellishment, but I wanted the title work and the beautiful paper to shine and take center stage so I chose to keep my embellishments to a minimum. Here is a close up of the beautiful paper with the faux enamel stickers.

For my title work, I combined a bunch of different fonts of alphabet stickers and used the gold letters to accent the word footprints as I wanted the emphasis to be on this word. I also wanted to highlight the word sky so I used my die cut machine to cut the letters out of some leftover Ultra Violet Foil Paper. Here is a close up:

I hope you have been inspired to use a quote on your layout or project this week!! Remember the August subscription box contains the Stargazer line so make sure and hurry on over to sign up, you won’t regret it!! You can even take 20% off your order using my code PH19LISA. Quick & easy cards!

Happy July! Lisa here to show you some quick and easy cards using these adorable 3D panda stickers!! I love the dimension that 3D stickers give to my cards! And who can resist these adorable pandas? They make the best birthday cards for people of any age!! Here are the 3 cards I made:

Supplies Used: 3D panda stickers

For my first card I started by making a background using ink splatters with pink and blue ink. I then stamped my large sentiment on a die cut rectangle. I placed my 3D panda at the top right corner to appear as if he was “peeking” over the edge of the die cut. I finished embellishing by adding a cute little 3D heart to the left of my sentiment to balance the panda sticker.

For the second card I made a background using blue ink and the “Smooshing” technique and then added some ink splatters. This time I added my sentiment on a die cut heart which I outlined to give it more contrast. I then placed my 3D panda to the right of the die cut hanging off slightly to add a stronger visual effect. To balance the main focal point I added a small 3D heart and a stamped sentiment to create a visual triangle.

Last but not least I changed up the color scheme a bit to accent the bamboo stalk by this panda. Instead of ink I dry embossed my background panel. I then added repetitive stamping of my sentiment to the fun doily die cut using 2 different ink colors. My cute little panda is again “hanging” off the edge of my focal point to create visual interest.

Stickers are such an easy accent for your cards and 3D stickers provide the dimension and texture to make your cards a big hit!! Happy creating!
