Love this Game

Hi Paper House Fans! Sue joining you today with a baseball layout! Of the 100’s of baseball pictures I’ve taken throughout Justin’s years of playing baseball, this is one of my favorites.  Under the lights on a warm summer day.  I don’t even remember if he scored.  (I do remember we were creamed)

Soccer

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a post for Paper House. I love the photorealism of these papers, the colors and details are amazing!  My son Nick didn’t want to be goalie at this game, this is his “angry” expression.

Supplies Used:

To make this page I tore the top layer off a piece of corrugated cardboard.  I painted it with yellow and orange acrylic paint. I pressed on some embossing ink around the edges, poured on clear embossing powder, and heated it almost completely. I dry brushed on layers of gold and turquoise paint, sprinkled on linen colored embossing powder, mica flakes, and micro beads. I topped it off with white gesso and pearl mica powder. I put the photo with layers on the soccer paper on some foam core board for dimension.

20160418_171445

To pick up on the look of my son’s hair, I sprayed water on a piece of canvas, and pulled out the horizontal threads with a straight pin. After doing that to the four sides, I then applied gesso, then black watercolor.

20160418_171449

I used mod podge to adhere two sheets of old scrapbook paper underneath the black cardstock ,to keep the project flat. I applied gesso around the cardboard with a cosmetic sponge, then glued on dry embossing powder to make it look as if there’s dirt on the page.

20160418_171500

I pressed die cuts onto an embossing ink pad, and put on gold and copper embossing powder. After I heated them, I dabbed on some turquoise metallic paint.  I added some metal pieces and flowers, then topped off the page with a little gesso, followed by pearl mica powder.

Thanks for looking at my page, and I hope you liked it!

Field of Dreams

Hey there Paper House fans!  Today I am sharing a layout I created using the Sports/All Star collections from Paper House Productions.  I used my son’s baseball photo from last year and these awesome sports papers and came up with this page:

Field of Dreams PH

Field of Dreams Layout Supplies:

I used my Cameo to cut the shooting stars from the All Star Paper and stitched through some of the shooting stars:

Field of Dreams PH close up 5

I used 2 of the tags and added one to each side of my matted photo and stitched them as well. I used some of the stars that were cut from the Cameo and scattered some around my page. That cute banner is included on the sticker sheet:

The mini alphas are from the fun sticker sheet, love them!

I added the baseball bat sticker on top of one of the stars and also added a wood veneer baseball. The “Field of Dreams’ title is printed right on the paper! Love that my title was already done for me 🙂

As soon as I saw that “hey now, you’re all star” sticker, I knew I had to use it! Also, because I know there is a song that has those words in it and I was singing it as I added it to my page. I just can’t remember the title or singer of that song?!

I hope I have inspired you in some way to dig out your sports photos and try these fabulous papers and  stickers.

Enjoy your day!

Play Ball Layout

Hello Paper House fans and followers! It’s Lee-Anne here today sharing a baseball layout of my youngest son when he played his first year of baseball a few years back.  Time sure does fly as he is now 16.

I used my antique sewing machine and stitched along the outside edge of the layout, the navy paper triangle, the circles and also the middle of the baseball stitched paper. I love the extra texture and homespun feel that stitching gives my layouts. This is totally optional.

IMG_2436

I added lots of stickers to the layout and gave some of the stickers added dimension by using some foam adhesive squares on the heart sticker, the title “Play Ball” sticker and some of the baseball stickers.  I also added my son’s name with the mini alpha stickers on top of the heart sticker and also on bottom right corner on top of the ticket sticker.

Adding the star stickers directs the eye down the page to the title and photos.

IMG_2437

The banner sticker strip and the baseball sticker strip are tucked slightly under the 4X6 photo and the 2X3 photo so it doesn’t leave a rough edge. I also added the circle heart sticker to the left triangle on the 4X6 photo.

Finally I added a little “homeplate” sticker beside the small photo and wrote the year with a black pen.

I hope you are inspired to create a sports themed page using the Baseball Collection. Have a creative day!

Basketball Pocket Page

My oldest son recently wrapped up his basketball season and I have a ton of pictures from it!  Christine joining you today to show how I used up some of the pictures in a quick and simple pocket page layout!

Basketball PL

Basketball Pocket Page Supplies:

Basketball Closeup1

The Basketball Tags Paper in the All Star Collection is great for a variety of uses.  You could do cards to encourage your little athlete, use it on traditional layouts, make home decor, or use it just like I did as part of a pocket page.  As you can see I used some straight as they came and other parts I decorated with stickers.

Basketball Closeup2

And just because Paper House has a new sports collection, don’t forget about all their great older ones that combine beautifully with the All Star Collection.  I used pieces from the Basketball Die Cuts and as you can see here a 3D Basketball sticker!

So if you are looking for a quicker alternative to the traditional layout and have several pictures to include – pull out a pocket page protector and get to work.  You won’t be disappointed!

Climbing on the Rocks

Under the tree in our front yard we have a grouping of big rocks. When your a two year old little boy it’s the perfect place to climb. It was such a beautiful, warm March day, we played outside for over an hour.

Layout Supplies Used:

I mixed a variety of Paper House Collections to create this fun layout. From the Faith Collection to Sports and Travel.  They all work well with each other.

I cut a tree silhouette out of brown cardstock and rubbed Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage photo and outlined the tree with a black marker to give it some dimension. I printed the rocks clip art onto grey cardstock and cut out.

Rich and I – Mixed Media Layout

Hi everyone!  Melissa here today!  I love using these beautifully made products, the colors and images are amazing!  My husband and I had a house in the Sierra Nevada foothills in Northern California. This photo was taken during that time.

Supplies used:

2016-04-06 14.02.51 Rich and I top left

To make this page I put a piece of Believe paper onto a sheet of black card stock. I put a wide piece of lace on, and taped it to the underside of the black paper. I put the photo on black cardstock, and used some foam core board to give it some dimension.  I used foam tape to adhere the ribbon around the photo.

I used a small cosmetic sponge to apply gesso, and applied my embellishments. Check out the adorable hummingbirds, they add so much interest to the page! I added watercolors, mica powders, and crackle paint to frame the photo.

I wiped glossy accents on the butterflies, and poured on glitter.

2016-04-06 14.03.20 bottom right Rich and I

I colored some gauze with brown watercolor to make some nesting material at the bottom right. I dry brushed aqua metallic paint all over the page to highlight the textures.

2016-04-06 13.19.39 Rich and I bottom left

I outlined different areas with thick brown watercolor pencil lines, then softened them by brushing on water. I applied some  cool wolf stickers on at the bottom of the page, to represent the eerie howls of coyotes I heard at night a lot.

Thanks for looking at my page, I hope you liked it!

Travel Layout

Hey there Paper House Fans!  Today I am sharing a layout I created using the Discover collection. This line is perfect for all your travel pages and I love the colors!

I used a photo of my daughter and hubby when they flew to Philadelphia for a family wedding. They are actually at the wedding dinner in this photo.

Travel PH WM (793x800)

Travel Layout Supplies:

Here are a few close ups:

I fussy cut the “Memories of a Life Time” card and added that next to my black and white photo to make it pop a bit. I added the passport sticker and the “Pack Your Bags” sticker, I popped up with pop dots to give some dimension:

Travel PH WM close up 1 (640x439)

I fussy cut the “Our Getaway” card, wrote my journaling on it and slid it under my photo. I added the travel and arrow sticker:

Travel PH WM close up 2 (640x427)

The airplane is also a sticker, looks like it was printed on the paper. Love it!

Travel PH WM close up 3 (640x427)

I added the branding strip (the small strip of paper that was on the bottom of the background paper) and zigzag stitched it in place. Then I popped that cute burlap sticker up with pop dots. After I finished, I realized the photo area looked like a suitcase, LOL! It was perfect for this page!

This layout is fairly simple, but yet the photo shines!  Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with us!
